Three television premiers on The Horror Channel in September

"Tom Paton's sci-fi action thriller G-LOC is amongst three films receiving their UK TV premieres on Horror Channel this September. G-LOC, which deals with the increasingly topical issue of space migration, stars Stephen Moyer, Casper Van Dien, Tala Gouveia and John Rhys-Davies.

Another UK-produced movie receiving it's UK TV premieres is disturbing haunted house thriller, The Haunted, starring Sophie Stevens (The Black Prince), Kirstie Steele (Waterloo Road, Glasgow Girls) and Nick Bayly (Goodnight Sweetheart, Emmerdale). The third is The Last House. which stars I Spit On Your Grave's Camille Keaton, who is back and out for revenge again - this time against a trio of home invaders"

Steve Coogan will play paedophile TV presenter Jimmy Savile in a new BBC One drama titled The Reckoning.

The mini-series, which was written by Neil McKay, will explore how the late Top of the Pops host was able to commit his crimes unchecked for decades.

After his death in 2011, hundreds of survivors came forward with stories of abuse by Savile, who used his work at the BBC and at hospitals, prisons and charities to conceal his wrongdoings.

Producers are working with many people whose lives were affected by Savile “to ensure their stories are told with sensitivity and respect”.

“To play Jimmy Savile was not a decision I took lightly,” Coogan said in a statement. “Neil McKay has written an intelligent script tackling sensitively a horrific story which, however harrowing, needs to be told.”

Director Sandra Goldbacher said: “The Reckoning is a unique opportunity to give Savile’s survivors, the people who inspired this project, a voice.

McKay has developed a reputation for tackling difficult subjects, including in his Fred and Rose West drama Appropriate Adult; a mini-series about the Yorkshire Ripper murders of the late Seventies, and the two-part drama See No Evil, about Myra Hindley and Ian Brady.

A release date for The Reckoning has yet to be announced.

Sounds interesting. If one person could convincingly play Jimmy Savile and choose an appropriate platform on which to do so, it's Steve Coogan.

I'm a bit apprehensive to watch it due to a lot of people's lives ruined by Jimmy Savile but on the other hand it be interesting to see Steve Coogan in the role as he is a good actor. I watched Appropriate Adult and Dominic West was great at playing Fred West, even he managed to creep me out.

If they do something on Jimmy Savile will they do something on Rolf Harris next? I think the system is wrong, what's the minimum you get, four years? out in 18-24 months, tagged, monitored, put on a register? sicko's like that should rot in a hole, my rant is over.
