Default Rik Mayall's Ruddy Brrrilliant Thread

IT'S THE GAS MAN!

I've been a huge fan of the legend that is/was Rik Mayall ever since I saw Bottom, way back when. Now I'm on a mission to see as many Mayall madness as possible. So, here's a thread dedicated to that ruddy brrrilliant bastard, who had a grreeeeat taste in smashing blouses, Mr Rik Mayall.

What are your favourite roles of his? Seen any of his lesser-talked-about work? Best quotes...

Recently re-watched Guest House Paradiso and couldn't stop laughing. The vomit covered finale - pure genius!

Uh huh huh huhhhhhhhhhhh,
Mr 55p

Funnily enough I've just decided to try to get as many of his classics as possible on dvd

I have so far got

Comic Strip box set
The Young Ones
Filthy Rich & Catflap
Bottom
Dangerous Brothers
Blackadder
New Statesman
Rik Mayall presents
King Arthur's Disasters

I also purchased his book but havent read yet.

Anyone else think Rik would have made an amazing Doctor Who given the chance?

Always loved "The Young ones", it's still one of my all time favourite comedies, so many great lines and so bizarre as well with dancing vegetables and talking matchboxes.

Also reminds me so much of when i first moved out home as there were me and three mates living in a run down house with a coal fire ( hole in the bath/ old twin tub washing machine that we had to use outside because it leaked), us being arty types and into all sorts of music (metal/punk/grunge/psychedelic).

With a very dodgy landlord who kept turning up randomly with scams to make money (saying we were having cooked breakfast everyday to try and get more benefit,) -actually happened a couple of times so we weren't complaining.
He once left a milk float in the drive of the house for ages and my mate sold it for scrap.

It was a pretty rough time but was also very funny and enjoyable time as well.

One of my favourite Playstation one games was this-

Hogs-of-war.JPG

A worms style turn based comedy shoot em up.

hogs-of-war-gameplay.jpg

Rik Mayall provided the voices of the squad members and the intro narrations.

Used to play it with my daughter when she was little so was enjoyable as a two player game and still found it very entertaining when i revisited it last year using the Ps1 disc in my Ps3.

With it's 3D system it takes a while to get the hang of the weapons but one you get in the flow it's very enjoyable and has some quite tricky levels that test your ingenuity.

Any the voices are the icing on the cake.

There's not a week goes past without some Mayall in this demon's lair.

The 'vodka frenzy' episode of Filthy, Rich & Catflap a favourite for sure
