Just got done with episode 2. The rock throwing scene was so funny! I love Lucy.
What the hell was Coopers dream about though? Very confused now haha.

Lol....indeed. Tis certainly a shame she doesn't get any screentime in the film but thankfully she's well represented by the series at least.

And Cooper's dream.....well, all will become clear in due course on that one Argentofan; I'd say just enjoy the trippy dancing and cool jazz whilst it lasts and the confusion will eventually dissipate (Actually, in Lynch's universe I guess such confusion should be revelled in while it's there really)

I'll never forget the faces of the bunch of college students I showed that scene to once (we were asked to do a presentation on the representation of minorities in the media and we chose the vertically challenged). You'd think someone had slipped hallucinogens in their bottled water by the looks some of them had by the end, lol.

Glad to see you guys enjoying Twin Peaks; some for the first, some re-living it and others rewatching it. I've been to Snoquamish County where a lot of TP was filmed, including the hotel that doubled for the Great Northern; lovely place!

Finished season 1 last night and I am now pretty confused at this point, it was quite late so I might have to watch episode 7 again or hope there's a re-cap before episode 8 that will some it all up.
Loved season 1 though, best thing from TV I've watched for AGES.

Best thing you'll ever see.

Glad you're enjoying it Argentofan.

Episode 14... wow. I did guess the killer right but that still shocked me! It was pretty harrowing. An amazing contrast between the killing and Coop in the roundhouse too.

Yup, knowing who the killer is in advance certainly doesn't seem to take any of the impact away from that scene. Not sure how audiences in late 1990 would've reacted to such a violent and nightmarish sequence (some commentators have expressed surprise as to how it ever got aired on primetime TV uncensored) but 21 years later it still feels (as I'm sure it always did) like a televisual kick to the solar plexus. And like you say, the intercutting between the killing and the scene of Cooper in the roadhouse is wonderfully effective, especially how it adds to the feelings of sadness and helplessness that seem to underscore this particular event.

Unfortunately, after this episode the series seems to lose much of its raison d’être as the focus shifts to a series of other subplots, some of which have their moments of intrigue, some which are frankly tedious and others which are just downright bemusing. However, it's certainly worth persevering to the end as things do eventually pick up pace again and the series finale is an absolute belter

I'll stay with the series even if it gets a bit rubbish and after that I have the film to watch.

I bought the gold box today for £20 just for the extras. :P Plus, the season 2 box set I have has like static menus and no log lady intros!

It ain't all that bad by any means, just a little frustrating after what came before I suppose. Like I say though, the last episode (and the film of course) more than make up for any mid season tedium.

Tempted to pick up the gold set myself for the same reason, especially now it's at such a reasonable price

Ray Wise is brilliant as Leland. I've just finished episode 16. Is this where the series goes a bit wobbly?
