I'm going to echo Demdike's sentiments somewhat, and say that the first 4 seasons were pretty rock-solid and represented some of the best TV ever made, in my opinion.

Things took a rapid downhill slide after that, and aside from the odd few decent episodes here and there, the bulk of the series was just filler to me. The introduction of Doggett was the beginning of the end in my eyes.

The final season in particular was all over the place, and the finale so rushed and cobbled together, I was actually embarrassed for Chris Carter. That said, I love the show and nothing that has been produced since has come close to the enjoyment I used to get from watching the X-Files on TV when I was 11/12.

Me and my friends used to watch it religiously every week, and discuss Gillian Anderson's attributes at great length.

I actually own all the seasons on DVD and usually go through the series from start to finish every year. I find the last couple a bit of a chore though!

As for the comment that The X-Files is better than Twin Peaks: BLASPHEMY!

By the way, The X-Files geek in me likes your D.P.O. sig, dog.

D.P.O comes in draw as my favourite episode along side Terms Of Endearment and Jose Chung's From Outer Space

It's weird seeing a young Jack Black in D.P.O. and Jose Chung's From Outer Space is a really fun episode.

I'm not sure what my favourite episode is...

Love these:

Squeeze / Tooms
Ice
Die Hand Die Verletzt
Our Town
Hell Money

Funny how must of us are in agreement, for me I rate season 2 & 3 higher than the others(the only ones I wanted to own) loved the non California look in the early years, a bit like 'Stargate' that Canadian look just seems to fit.

Season DVD sets of The X Files are on offer for £12.99 each from the HMV website at the moment, for those who are interested. The Lone Gunmen boxset can be picked up for £10.85 from Zaavi as well.

I find it impossible to find Kirsten Dunst attractive, as I first saw her as a freaky kid in Interview With The Vampire.

The rule doesn't apply to Natalie Portman though, as I fancied her when I first saw Leon!

Before you think I'm a nonce, I was only 12!

The episode The Calusari. Been years since I saw it though.

I used to love this show but lost interest around the time of the first movie. Really would love to go through them from start to finish though. One day, one day... *wistful sigh*

There was rumours of if the 2nd film did really well they were going to reboot the series, hopefully they won't because I don't think it will work as well or be as popular as it used to be,
