It's a slow burn with lots of metaphysics and philosophy but it does explode into action every now and again. There is a great one take action scene that lasts about 6 minutes that is pretty impressive. However it does kind of meander away from the original investigation a far bit before pulling it all together again at the end. It is much more a character study than anything else.

True Detective.
"oooh, look I'm acting!!"

Better than the hype, but not if you are expecting 24 style action haha.

Won't mention what I thought of the ending, since Ant has just started with it cough.

Yes stick with it Ant. The first few are a little slow.

I'm another one that will sing praise from the rooftops for True Detective. It is truly an engaging show that never failed to entice me and was never redundant. What do I know though, I also loved the first season of The Leftovers which seems more polarizing than the finale of The Sopranos.

The Big Bang Theory series 3.

Quality US comedy that fills the gap vacated by Friends for me.

Now more of an ensemble piece than the first two seasons with more storylines centered round Howard and Raj. Seemingly at the expense of Johnny Galecki's character Leonard ,who seems to have spent the series shagging Penny and sitting on a sofa seemingly looking more like Glenn Quagmire with every passing episode.

Oh yeah and Will Wheaton? What a ****.

Currently making a serious dent in the 112 episode complete series of Tales of the Unexpected.

A delightful blast from the past with some familiar British (and international) talent with episodes introduced by Roald Dahl. A lot of the episodes I've never seen before too, which makes the series even more of a delight to watch.

The Poison episode - Judy Geeson was practically topless throughout.

Agent Carter

Been enjoying this a lot more than I have agents of shield, it's only been three episodes but tht charcters are a lot more interesting than those on agents. Also has a film noir feel. Still not as good as DCs tv stuff.
