I'm really enjoying Bates motel at the moment. An easy watch with some nice performances. Some of the subplots don't really work such as the drug ring but the scenes between Norman and his mother are really good. Looking forward to seeing how this series progresses.

UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT. Finely daft sitcom following the adventures of a woman who as a child was kidnapped by a Doomsday Cult and kept in a bunker for 15 years believing the world outside destroyed.

I started watching The Prisoner boxset from Network tonight. Only managed two episodes tonight but its good stuff. Clearly influential in so many ways and Patrick McGoohan is just so cool in this.

Finally starting on HunterXHunter (2011) which concluded fall last year. From what i've seen, the animation is ungodly for a TV animated series. Slick, smooth and completely lacking in static that is all so common in the shounen adaptations.

Still not really feeling Gon as a main character yet but it's made up for with the outstandingly colorful supporting characters. Hisoku in particular is a right evil little shit.

I see The Horror Channel has launched on Freeview. Something to watch when I can't sleep.

Well, this is hardly a serious TV programme but I recently caught an episode of Impractical Jokers (the original, US version) on Comedy Central and I've watched a lot more since.

I used to love Beadle's About but in general I don't really like hidden camera/prank shows but this is really quite funny. There are some episodes available on YouTube as well. Very addictive light-hearted rubbish.

Has anyone else seen this? Am I alone in my love for this show?

It took me a while to separate it from the film but, once you treat them as separate entities with slightly different characters and characterisations, I thought it was pretty good, but not one of the great TV shows around.

It is worth a watch.

Enjoyed the first episode of Happy Valley (2014) last night.

The always watchable Sarah Lancashire stars in this West Yorkshire based crime series. An excellent opening hour began with character building then allowed the plot to creep into gear. I would have continued with episode 2 had it not been almost 2am.

I've a feeling this is going to be a gripper.
