Wasn't expecting much from both shows but been plesently surprised by both.

Dominion

God disappears and the Angels led Gabriel blamed mankind for this and set about wiping us out, mankind was aided by the archangel Michael . 20 years later most of humanity has been killed or posseed by lower Angels (only higher Angels can come to earth, lesser Angels have to possess a human host). We soon find out their is a chosen who was hid as a baby by Michael. Who humans believe will bring there salvation and Angels the power to destroy mankind and bring God back. Sounds very familiar as its a sequel to legion(2010)

The last ship
Excellent. After a plague has infected or killed 80% of the worlds population a lone navy destroyer is the worlds last hope for a cure. Sadly in this time the world has fallen into anarchy making their job a lot harder than it should be

Watched the first couple of episodes of dark matter and another plesent surprise which as mentioned comes of as a cross between Farscape and firefly, nice to have a more old school style scifi show on TV
Season 2 of Dominion is better imho as for the Last Ship season 1 was better, Defiance each season seems to be a self contained one and as for Falling Skies just finished this series and I have to say personally I was disappointed started off ok but just slid into sci-fi cliche. Dark Matter....I tried but couldn't get into it.

I hoping dominion gets a third season but it's looking unlikely which is a shame.

Both scifi channels new shows dark matter and the kill joys are getting renewed which is a bit strange as they both seem very similar,

Have you seen continuum and once upon a time, if yes how are they

Once upon a time I havent seen but I have see the first two seasons of Continuum. I wasn't too bad but season three started off almost in another direction. I stopped watching after S03E01 so cant comment on this later season. Going back to 'The Last Ship' I cant see this getting a third season.

X Files: Monday. A young woman is caught in an endless loop, repeating the same day over and over again - the day her boyfriend tries to rob a bank and ends up blowing it and everyone in it sky high... including two FBI agents. The X Files does Groundhog Day in this classic episode!

Torchwood - Countrycide.

The 6th episode of the first series abandons sci-fi completely and goes for visceral horror of the backwoods butchering variety. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre relocated to the Brecon Beacons.

Written by Chris Chibnall (Doctor Who / Broadchurch) this is gripping, brutal and tense viewing. Countrycide is horror the likes of which is generally avoided by British tv makers.

Demoncrat likes this.

I despised the woman but the character arcs across the whole series are brilliant and by the end while I'm not saying you'll necessarily love her i was surprised how i felt about her character.
