I watched episode one of American Gods (I loved the book) and I was pretty 'meh' about the whole thing. Does it get better or is the first one a good indicator? I can't put my finger on what I didn't enjoy, but one of the elements that irked me was the over use of CGI.

Up until the point Wednesday came onto the screen I very almost turned it off. That scene on the plane saved it for me. The last scene with Technical Boy was interesting as well.

Watched the pilot of The Tick (big fan of the animated series etc)
Serafinowicz is perfect. The framing of the episode I'm not quite happy about though ....

I gave up and didn't bother with the final episode. It was too pre occupied with cosmic wonder CGI to remember it had a story to tell. That said there are a few stand out images in it and a lot of people on here liked it. But what do I know, I gave up on Stranger Things too...boring 80s nostalgic wankfest.
