I was really interested in where the last season (7) was heading and I'm probably going to watch the eighth season in one go and then decide whether I'll continue with it or not.

I agree with you about Fear the Walking Dead as I really liked the first two seasons and really need to catch up the third.

Got bored with one character in particular with Fear.... so gave up.
Finished Legion. Lawdy.
Watched 1st ep of 2nd series ... seems to be more conventional ... so far ...

Now onto Hap & Leonard 3. Ah ... they NEVER learn

If it is, I'm interested know whether it suffers the fate of other long form horror series which, without the constricted runtime of a film, can get a little bogged down in back story and unnecessary character development rather than focusing on atmosphere, tension, and scares.

I haven't seen any of the recent series of The Walking Dead, but that seems to suffer because it's been on for so long – compare it to one of Romero's zombie films and they are far more intense.
Yep thats it, it's a limited event series , one season of i think 10 episodes so can't see it having problems of walking dead , it's very character driven but show gives a great sense of isolation and helplessness.

Mates just phoned saying there's a Gary Shandling doc (2 hrs!) on AP ... so I'll check that out later/tomorrow.

Well I watched Waco Inferno: 25 Years Later from Monday. A fascinating documentary about Koresh and the Branch Davidians. Pretty shocking stuff, especially considering that 4 of the survivors still follow the belief system

First episode of the apocalyptic 70s BBC drama about a virus wiping out most of the world's population, Survivors. Very good so far. They killed Peter Bowles. You b******s!

Enjoy Survivors ... but keep some comedy close at hand. Lighthearted it isn't

I'm that other person who hasn't seen it.

Only just discovered Ripper Street late last year also.
