Got the network and a Australian version but for me it was worth the upgrade for the extra, extras and the nice book.

Did you get the book by Chris Bentley on the series?

Amazon had it for preorder for £5.99. An absolute bargain for a massive colour hardback book. It took about three months after publication date for it to arrive.

I'm two episodes into another Network series.

The Champions.

Starring Stuart Damon, William Gaunt and Alexandra Bastedo

The three work for a secret organisation called Nemesis and end up gaining special powers in their first mission when their plane comes down in the Himalayas. In the second episode they begin to find out what their powers are as they attempt to stop Peter Wyngarde stealing a London bank's gold reserves.

It's fairly fast paced with a decent amount of intrigue and action. Bastedo who some might remember from The Blood Spattered Bride (1972) is an absolute stunner. Anyone who enjoys other ITC series like The Saint, Department S and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) should find something to enjoy here.

I watched the three episodes of A Very English Scandal, a retelling of the events around the Liberal MP Jeremy Thorpe, who had an (illegal homosexual) affair with Norman Scott. When their relationship ended and Scott continued to contact Thorpe and people around him, Thorpe did what any MP would do: he used his contacts to hire someone to kill Scott.

What happened after that is more Ealing comedy than political thriller, from the incompetent hitman to outrageous trail. It's probably best watched if you know very little about the events because it is a retelling of events which are moving, engrossing and absurd.

Hugh Grant and Ben Wishaw are superb as Jeremy Thorpe and Norman Scott, respectively, and there is an impressive supporting cast of great British character actors. The whole thing is available on iPlayer, so I highly recommend it to everyone who would like three hours of excellent TV drama to watch.

If and when you watch the series, you should definitely check out the documentary made in the late 1970s, The Jeremy Thorpe Scandal. It's a great companion piece and very important that Tom Mangold did not do what other journalists did at the time and destroy the video.

Well that's what comes when you clean your tv screen.

They were there before.

Don't watch The Champions. There's a shot of Dave Prowse lifting weights above his head that scarred me for life, or at least for the rest of the episode.
