WESTWORLD SEASON 2

westworld-season-2-poster.jpg

Good second season.
I watch bewildered sometimes as the show flashes around different time frames. As with all the stuff with Bernard..??
On the whole though some great episodes and this second season picks the pace up even introducing Shogun World.
Thoughtful sci-fi if you can understand what's going on.

Harry's Game (1982).
So far ... I sit astounded at how clean the tube stations are . A British agent is sent to the emerald isle undercover to unearth the architects of an assassination on home ground. Features that nice Charlie fae Casualty as an IRA soldier .

I also thought it was a wonderful piece of thought-provoking and engrossing TV, leaving me wanting to watch both seasons back-to-back in a marathon sitting.

A few things I've been watching on Netflix/prime on mondays.

Exorcist TV series.

Hot garbage. I think I like Exorcist 2 a lot more after seeing this. I kept thinking about how much that film got wrong but after seeing this sub-par crap with a Dan Brown twist to proceedings I genuinely found myself missing it. Avoid. Brainless and derivative.

Luke Cage season 2

I liked season one but this is better. Morse consistent.

Jessica Jones season 2

I liked season one. This is worse. No villain to drive the arc forward. Just felt meandering and as if the show-runners decided people only came for the characters personal drama's. Some good episodes but weak overall. Not as awful as Iron fist though.

Ken Burns Vietnam.

Comprehensive as hell. Be warned its LONG. I'm 6 episodes in and the episodes are anywhere between 80-100 minutes each. Appears to be using every piece of newsreel and stock footage out there. Some occasional idiotic observations aside (like the bloke who thinks he knows what American revolutionaries in the war of independence must have felt like being confronted by redcoats after encountering the Vietnamese peasants ..... errrm no) its a fascinating series. On netflix now.

Noted ala Burns. I watched his Jazz. Wooh mama indeed.

Peaky Blinders Series 1.
Liking this, as always it's sat in the house for long enough . Cillian Murphy heads a family/ crime syndicate in 20s Birmingham. I am sure this is not news to some . Apart from the constant White Stripes on the ST, I am enjoying it.

Default He's like a fiiiirework .... Peaky Blinders III

Tom Hardy turns up but finds that Noah Taylor has used up all the spittle in the area. Confounded, he resorts to rumbling like Mount St Helens . Slightly more graphic this time.
