Watched first disc of twilight zone boxset, classic stuff , one of the best scfi shows ever made, it's also one of the best shows no matter genre. For people who say there is no benefit in upgrading old B/W shows and films to HD need to see this .

Finished the eleventh, and hopefully last, season of The X Files. It was much better than the previous season, I think more episodes gave it more time to breath. A couple of crackers, some average and some awful, normal service is resumed. They handled the mythology episodes better this time around, but Carter is still making it up as he goes and then changing his mind, if they do make more it’ll probably go in a completely different direction.

Overall I enjoyed it, and if that is it, it’s a pretty decent way to bow out.

I watched season 1 of Agent Carter on Hulu the other day. The plot, dialogue, and writing in general feels like more of the same MCU/DC superhero content, which I've never been super fond of anyway. However, I really dig the aesthetic of the show at times. Specifically some of the colors used at various times. Like the diner that Carter goes to has a really nice pastel coloring that is pleasant to look at and is typically shot decently in there. The usage of color can be a positive of the show, but it isn't a particularly good show. Probably right around the 5/10 mark. I don't know if I will proceed with the second season or not just yet. I've been trying to make up my own list of the best superhero series of all-time; not because I am particularly interested in most of them, but because I wanted to start a project of some sort. I'm finding that I enjoy the shows that eschew that genre's conventions more than the shows that embrace it. I'm not sure I'll carry on with this project, as it can be tiresome devoting time to a project that isn't bearing the fruit you'd hoped for. I'll hold off until after I finish up 66 Batman and the rewatch Batman TAS.

I watched both seasons of Agent Carter when I was going through the entire MCU, watching the TV episodes and films in chronological order, something which occasionally necessitates watching half a season, then a film, then the rest of the season. It works really well and I found watching Captain America: The First Avenger gives the characters and events in Agent Carter an added resonance and emotional impact.

I've been watching the second season of The Handmaid's Tale, something which I've just realised I started at the wrong time because I'm going to finish watching all the episodes I have recorded at least a fortnight before the final episode is aired in the UK. Because of the way it jumps around to focus on different characters, different locations, and different times, it's not as compelling as the first season, but it is still very good and I'm eagerly anticipating watching the next five episodes.

I've never actually seen the Captain America movie, so maybe that could explain somewhat how I feel. It could also be that I'm a heartless bastard, because none of the Captain America stuff from the show made me feel anything at all.

From your perspective, which of the MCU tv shows is the best?

From what i've seen - the first series of Carter and Agents of SHIELD i'd say SHIELD, easily.

Just ordered series 2 and 3 of Agents of SHIELD from HMV today in the Marvel offer of 2 for £12.
