Not impressed at all.
I did not like any of the Jacob Marley stuff. Is this a comedy character?
So we open with a young boy urinating on Marley's grave, and then Marley's reaction inside his coffin.
A few f*%$s and some other nonsense and my attention then wandered.
I don't think this is for me.
I am not looking forward to Dracula.
After this and bore of the world's ( no mistake) I'm worried about Dracula .

Why be worried about Dracula?

Moffat and Gatiss really don't come up with anything crap.

Coupling, Press Gang, Doctor Who, Sherlock, The Tractate Middoth, An Adventure in Space and Time, The Dead Room, The League of Gentlemen... all shows they've either made together or individually.

Their resume is as good as anything on tv, not just British tv, any tv.

Are You being Served: Christmas Crackers.

Christmas time at Grace Brothers, the department are being told their floor is being decorated during the lunch time and they are asked to dress up.

70s British comedy that some of us may enjure with office lunch that may end disaster or disappointment. Still has the good laughs and one liners, still makes me chuckle.

Watching this.

Childhood was much better in the 80s have to feel sorry for kids today, so many awesome programs in the 80s that didn't force political correctness down your throat.

I bought the Network Blu of 7 - 63 Up last week which I had not seen any episodes of, and I have watched the first 3 installments so far. It's really interesting to see how much some of them have changed over these 14 years so far, and how little others have changed.

Some ideas are heavily pushed upon the viewer even when they're not really true such as in the first episodes the kids are all together in an adventure playground and commentator points out that the kids from the children's home are working away building a house (because they don't have a home of their own presumably) although when you look closer they're being helped by some of the boys from the posh private school and are really just dragging bitd of wood around and digging in the dirt.

They're 28 in the next episode and I'm expecting quite a big change in them, for myself the difference between 21 and 28 was massive for me and much more so that 14 to 21.

Martin's Close (2019)

The latest Ghost Story for Christmas from Mark Gatiss is a nice tidy and occasionally creepy tale of a murder trial set in the 17th century.

The always excellent Peter Capaldi plays a barrister prosecuting a wealthy young nobleman for the murder of a young woman from a lesser background, in front of the 'Hanging Judge' Jeffreys.

It's quite a low budget affair and the way it's composed telling the story with two framing devices reminded me of the Christopher Lee / Robert Powell Christmas story telling series (Sections are read in the present day by Simon Williams) as much as it did the classic Ghost Stories for Christmas. It does hark back to all three due to the fact that Martin's Close is from the pen of the great M.R. James as well.

As well as being creepy, especially the finale, there's a wicked streak of black humour thoughout in particular from Elliot Levey who comes across more like Judge John Deed at his most playful than at least my idea of Judge Jeffreys, and the tale also delves into class struggle as well as ghostly goings on.

So whilst this may not be up there with the very best Ghost Stories for Christmas i did really enjoy it and would love to see it released on disc by the BFI in time for next Christmas along with Gatiss' other entries into the series The Tractate Middoth (2013) and The Dead Room (2018)

Wurzel gummidge

I don't go into updated versions with any expectations anymore you tend to get disappointed or let down

I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't too bad, few very minor gripes .

CGI for the crows was a tadge ropey and dialogue with them was a bit silly .
What was that he ask the crows, you want a shotgun ? No I can't provide you with a chainsaw either ....mmmmm
And tried a little bit to hard with the different type of scarecrows .
Apart from that first half was decent and off to a good start .
