Ahem. Finished The Stand (9 episodes ?!?!?)

Having never read the 12" remix of the actual book, I cannot comment on the authenticity of some of this. The bit I remember is there, but yet again a horribly compressed feeling lingers over the whole thing.
Ahem.

Well like most king a lot of filler and takes a chapter to describe something that most other authors would do in a paragraph. So maybe most of it is their.

I'm only saying that because of my terrible memory.

Slightly off topic but I've just watched The Trailer for Mighty Ducks: Game Changers:

I don't know really, it could be like Cobra Kai where we get cameos but having The Ducks as the bad guys does kind of ruin The Movies.

Will give it a go though.

I finished watching the Netflix documentary series Age of Samurai: Battle for Japan yesterday and consider myself more informed and entertained them beforehand. It's very well edited, with talking heads footage from a variety of historians, animated maps, and dramatisation of historical events.

It's a fascinating period in Japanese history: over a century of continuous (and often bloody and savage) warfare which led to the creation of the Japanese Empire. That 250 year period of peace within the country was unprecedented and was only ended by its decision to attack the US and become involved in World War II.

Jack The Ripper. 1988

Hard drinking Inspector Frederick Abberline is brought in to investigate the brutal slaying of a prostitute in East End of London in 1888. As he is no closer to catching the culprit more prostitutes are being murdered and the killer playing cat and mouse he uncovers corruption that can go all the way to the Queen.

I wasn't sure where to put this in this forum or What Movies Have You Watched forum, but think it's suitable here, this is far better than I remembered back when it was aired, always remembered Michael Caine being a tough copper and easily bad tempered but his performance was brilliant along with Lewis Collins as his partner Godley who seems more softer. Armand Assante plays the stage actor and one of few people questioned about the murders, and somewhat shows a split personality of a person.

For a film like this, the production value seems high or decent with bringing back the Victorian sets to make it authentic along with props and costumes that make it look uncomfortable to breath let alone wear. The whole three hours of this is well spent with the set up suspense even to the end as it shows the possible killer and then it is revealed who the killer was and somewhat of a motive.

Few episodes into season 4 of Miami Vice and one of the episodes tonight was the worst i have seen. There is a fight over the ownership of the body of a cryogenically frozen reggae artist

But it soon got back to the Miami Vice i love after that

Things That Make You Go "Hmm": A 2015 episode of Person of Interest, where an outbreak of a deadly flu-like virus is deliberately started, leading to mass vaccinations that are a cover for getting everyone's DNA on file for nefarious purposes.

Hmm....
