Finally caught up with the second series of Inside No 9. Whilst the much lauded "guest stars" (Jack fricking Whitehall!! ) didn't derail the stories as much as I'd feared, I still had misgivings about some of the casting. Regardless, was enjoyable enough and hopefully we'll see some more.

Interesting to hear this about TD2 btw. Colin Farrell puts me off at the best of times etc.......

Really late to the party on a few things but been watching loads recently.

True Detective - Worth the Hype. Great story and cinematography. Did it in 2 sittings as I was hooked. Think it might deserve thread of it's own for discussion/theories.

Daredevil - Was recommended this and actually to my mind one of the best Marvel things yet. Dark and gritty with a good story. Vincent D'Onofrio steals the show with his depiction of Kingpin.

Firefly - My sister made me watch it and I'm glad she did. Entertaining with a suprisingly good script and characters. Think I might be the only person in the world who hadn't watched it.

Attack on Titan - Dark Anime. Lots of strange sentimentality and brutal violence. Will definitely watch the second season when it's made.

Nobody watched it that's why it was cancelled mid season.

But yes, it's a great series. Have you seen the follow up film?

from the team that bought the frankly incredible BACCANO! Comes this little beauty ltd to 3000 copies. (which I had no idea of when I ordered it.) It features the same, clever non-linear story telling that plays with structure in some interesting ways and is set in Ikebukuro as various characters lives intersect in interesting ways. Also mixes in supernatural elements as well, much like Baccano and even has cameos from two of the characters from that show so plays much like a spiritual successor to that show. Even if Anime isn't your thing these shows are well worth seeking out.

Also got stuck into season 5 of Game of Thrones. It might be that I've been reading the books (currently into feast of crows) but the series felt a little uneaven. That said, the whitewalker attack on the wildling camp managed to piss over anything I've seen in walking dead in terms of zombie action. Very intense.

Rewatching Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.
I never tire of this faux 80s laugh fest, from Matt Berry's overemphasised vowels to the silly silly "Scotch" episode, this is a joy to behold everytime......

I still want to see War Of The Wasps!!!!!

Is that a good thing i wonder?

Is it just a mini series or are they hoping for a proper comeback?

If it's the latter i'd take things slowly as they did with the Doctor Who reboot and introduce things gradually.

They have to attract new casual viewers not just the old fans.

Of course if it's just a continuation then it's already bogged down in however many series and two movies of bollocks, making it pretty much a non-starter for many people.
