Great British Railway Journeys. Michael Portillo is in the industrial north west this week. He visited Blackburn Empire Theatre with a BFI restorer and looked at a lot of Edwardian era films from the Blackburn area that the BFI have restored beautifully. it was very interesting and i never knew film history was so close to home. He then visited the Clarion club in Roughlee which is very close to home and somewhere i often walk past with Milli. Not sure why he went there because there isn't a railway for miles around. But it was quite amusing seeing a Tory in a pink jacket chatting to a large group of old school socialists. They got on splendidly. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0002fl0 |

Corrie continued ...
Things hot up with Dierdrie and Ray Langton's wedding, Len & Bet , and the odd violent death cough. Then things really heat up when a factory fire revives the spirit of the Blitz as they all rally round in the face of adversity and mair death. Lawdy! Worth every penny ....

Heading toward the last few episodes of season 2 of Melrose Place. Great stuff, way crazier than the first season and great fun (haven't seen it since it was first on in the 90s). Sydney is such a great headcase, and Michael Mancini is up there with Sons & Daughters' Wayne Hamilton as one of the great TV bad boys. |

I started watching The Tudors last night and can see it becoming a show I'll watch very quickly It's been something I've owned for some time but it's taken a while to get round to watching it. Something I bought before it and have now finished watching was the complete collection of Californication and I thoroughly enjoyed all seven seasons, re-watching the first four and pleasantly surprised by the final three. I also finished watching The Good Place as I was caught out by the mid-season break and thought I'd left it long enough to binge watch the entire season, but had to binge watch it into goes. If this is it for the show – and I see no reason why there should be any more episodes – I think it finished perfectly and think it will be something I will go back to and rewatch in its entirety.

I finished the fourth series of Californication the other day. Superb stuff. I love how Moody is now basically a bum crashing where he can. Nice to see a cameo from Zakk Wylde too. |

I'm currently watching the fourth series (out of six) of Judge John Deed. I never saw any of it when it originally aired but was told it was good a while ago so picked up the whole lot in individual series sets from Music Magpie before Christmas for around a tenner for the lot. And yes, i do like it. Aside from some interesting court cases the ongoing storyline is a bit of a gripper because Deed, as played by Martin Shaw, is a bit of a womanizing maverick as far as judges go and doesn't play by the rules which pisses off those in departmental, business and governing bodies. Also stars Jenny Seagrove, Donald Sinden and Simon Ward. I'd definitely recommend this as a well written, quality drama. However series five be a bit annoying as two episodes were banned due to biased and incorrect information about the MMR vaccine. |

I will say we had a sizeable JJD set in the shop for a while, the sheer magnitude of the thing put me off somewhat .

Also been perusing that South Park set. Aside from Tery & Matt's "hilarious" introductions, they are as I remember them chillun! Much hilarity ensues. But then I could watch it all day, and the plan is to accrue as much as I need to do this

watched the first three episodes enjoying it. Very OTT a strange mix of comic book, Tarantino and The Boys. Also been watching highlander show. For a race of people who are a tiny percentage of the population , you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one! |
