Default Greatest Australian TV Shows

Australia have created some of the greatest moments in Television history and have produced some of the most memorable and entertaining shows on the small box. So, besides Prisoner: Cell Block H, what are some of your favourite shows from Down Under?

Here's a thread to share your thoughts and favourites!

Some of the shows that spring to mind are classic soaps such as Neighbours and Home & Away - anyone a fan of those?

Or perhaps you are a fan of Aussie comedies such as the original Wilfred or the show I used to watch religiously as a kid, Going Round The Twist!

And let's not forget the icon himself, the late great Crocodile wrestler, Mr. Steve Irwin!

And who can forget SKIPPY!

So what are your favourite shows? Share the love here!

Thanks Kyle! It must have been ages since I last saw a picture of Skippy - I used to really like it when I was about the age of the boy in it, probably even younger - but then I started to forget all about it, except the occasional Skippy jokes (*tsk *tsk punchline, you know?). Anyway, I would really have to dig deep to see what of all the Australian series I had seen to pick a favourite, so far, I seem to only know Skippy and a bit of Neighbours, so Skippy jumps to the top in my book at the moment... I'll investigate a bit and maybe update the reply, or add a new one later...

Edit: OK, skipping (pun intended!) through quite a long list, I could only spot one other show I used to watch ages ago: Barrier Reef, recollection is even worse, so Skippy stays at the top - and yes, I do not know Prisoner (Cell Block H)...

In that case, perhaps this will bring back some memories

I loved Round the Twist as a kid, but the theme tune freaked me out!

Round the Twist was ace! Whenever you mention it to someone the first thing they seem to remember is the peeing contest episode. The episode where their mouths turn small and they cover them with scarves really freaked me out. You can buy all 4 seasons for just over a tenner on Amazon too!
