According to the Anchor Bay R1 version the opening scenes are reversed where the Shameless release is the right round....so why did the AB R1 version get it so wrong then ?

The ABUS DVD doesn't have the scenes in the wrong order, in fact it is missing the lecture footage completely.

"Also when Anchor Bay US put together their release of 'Torso' they found themselves with over a minute of Italian soundtrack of John Richardson giving his lecture on art that had no accompanying visuals. They incorporated this into their print by stopping the music half way through the opening credits and running the lecture over the remaining credits with English subs. The Shameless DVD has the correct Italian credit sequence with uninterrupted music and immediately after the credits we have the correctly placed lecture footage in Italian with English subtitles"

quoted from my review of the Shameless DVD.

So apart from the Shameless DVD this version has never been released on DVD by any other Company then ? if so that is a Shameless Exclusive then.

There's actually 7 DVD releases of 'Torso'

Only the ABUS version is incomplete.

It was cut by 50 secs though I have no details of the edits. Never seen a copy myself.

Once you've seen the uncut TORSO it doesn't take much guessing what the 50s of cuts were...sexual violence!

Wow - didn't realise the Shameless release of Torso was so much better than the ABUS disc - the definitive version in fact. Oh well, that's another eight quid spent then...
