Pre-ordered this a while ago. Never seen it but Peck, Niven and Quinn are a triumvirate worth paying £7.99 for :p Not to mention J. Lee Thompson who directed most of Bronson's brilliantly sleazy 80s revenge-fests

As I haven't bought this on DVD, I think I can justify the purchase!

You're in for a treat! Action/Adventure war films don't get much better IMO.

It's been ages since I last saw The Guns of Navarone, but I remember it being a superb 'disparate group of strangers on a mission' film like The Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heroes or The Seven Samurai.

Jay-sus Christ, that's one hell of a deal! I remember being chuffed getting it for £12 at the start of last year. Such a great set too, well worth it.

I must have bought it at the same time as you as I paid £12 which I thought was a great price for a 10 DVD set including the movie so, for £8 (£1.25 a disc!), you really can't go wrong.

It's actually 80p a disc - even better!

My maths lets me down again! As the film retails at £2.50, you're playing £5.50 for the three seasons!

My Kubrick set is just sat as "awaiting stock allocation", even though it's in stock!

amazon have reduced their pre-order price for GUNS OF NAVARONE to £5.99 to match HMV now. I'm ordering with amazon as I've had less hassle with them in the past.

Less hassle with amazon? Blimey. You may have been unlucky then, personally I've never had a problem with HMV and they're the only company that get preorders to you early so always tend to go with them first unless the price is right elsewhere.
Either way Guns of Navarone is a bargain price, its quite shocking how cheap BDs are now.

That was £4.99 on amazon this morning but seems to have gone back to its regular price.

I just added it to my basket at HMV but, when the price appeared at the top, it was £10.99.

Probably not, because after a couple of emails they've dispatched my Kubrick collection at £17.29, not the £45 it went back up to minutes later, because that was the price when I ordered.

Same with the Sony special editions I ordered at £5.99 a pop (which have now been completely removed from the HMV site). They were sat on 'special order' and changed today to 'awaiting allocation'. so I guess they'll be getting sent out before the week is up too!
