Quite a few Arrow Blu's are £8.99 in Play's Sale. Not just the usual Dawn, Day and City that frequently pop up in their sales, but also the likes of Cat 'O Nine Tails. Well worth a look if you're missing a few.

Couldn't they wait till after Christmas???

£8.99 for The Beyond. Perfect price even if it needs a replacement.

Damn you for finding these, I don't have any pennies left and these prices won't ever be matched again. What do I do? Credit Card or cut my losses and buy at higher price once I got the money. :decision:

A fantastic film & at the price you can't go wrong.... :D

Wow, great price for a fantastic film.

nekromantik 20th December 2011 09:48 PM

hmm do I cancel the order for D&B and order NTM instead then

Lol. To be fair they're both very different films, both good in their own way. NTM is definitely more intense, the more shocking of the 2 films. D&B has always felt like a John Carpenter film to me for some reason, I guess cause its a horror film with that 80s vibe that Carpenter tapped into so well :D

nekromantik 20th December 2011 10:38 PM

yeah I know they different.
im just worried D&B might be too slow.

Tempting but I'm going to see it at the cinema tomorrow so shall wait and see what I think of it. You get a free ginger beer and Christmas goodie bag upon entry too, which I notice you don't get with the bluray :)

It's terrific. I saw it at the cinema too, and bought the blu for this xmas to show the OH. A perfect Christmas film!

Well I'd say D&B has more to it plot-wise than NTM. In fact the tension builds slowly in NTM up to the rape and then the Father-Dowling-with-a-shotgun finale :p

EscapedLunatic 21st December 2011 11:57 AM

I just ordered Inferno and Living dead at manchester Morgue blu´s from HME and I had already bought my monthly movies so now I have to live on potatosoup for the rest of the month.

Delirium 21st December 2011 12:25 PM

I really, really, really wish I wasn't so suspicious of this outfit. It just seems too good to be true. Ok, so a sale is somewhat normal, but on pre-releases? And titles that are generally more expensive like Zombie or Manchester Morgue? And free shipping to the UK?

How can they maintain those prices?

Call me cynical, but in this instance I am. Love to be proven wrong though.

Gojirosan 21st December 2011 02:15 PM

I just ordered the BD of The Road for only £4.95 on Amazon. Don't know if it is usually that cheap or what, but it struck me as a bargain!

darthelvis 21st December 2011 03:47 PM

Apparently Currys are clearing out stock of Blu Rays due to being unable to compete with the competition and are selling ALL blu rays for 3 for £13 instore!

Might need to pay a visit to my local store.

Stephen@Cult Labs 21st December 2011 06:42 PM

D&T Mailorder are selling the Black Rain steelbook for the rather awesome price of €9.99

Thanks for the spot - I may also have to have a quick look around my local branch.

And thanks for pointing out the Black Rain Steelbook, Stephen. As I don't own it on DVD, I think I can justify the purchase!

Paul@TheOverlook 21st December 2011 07:26 PM

I love Black Rain! I already have the UK Blu-ray with the shitty photoshopped cover.

Nice to see that they've used the original art too.

oaxaca 21st December 2011 07:31 PM

Yeah BLACK RAIN is a classic film, one of the very first blu ray's I bought.

It sure is. I had it pre-ordered as soon as I saw the artwork.

God yeah that paramount DVD was tripe. Its such a spectacular film to look at, as most of Scott's films are, so the blu ray was a revelation.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 21st December 2011 08:11 PM

I've ordered that Black Rain Steelbook and, in order to make the order enough for shipping, bought the special edition The Evil Dead set - both €9.99.

Saw Black Rain on the big screen back in the day when you could smoke in the flicks!

As for the shitty cover....the inlay card of the dvd and scissors..

Blue Peter?
Who the **** are they?

What Evil Dead set is that?
Is it Blu Ray?

Daemonia 22nd December 2011 12:31 AM

Ordered Zombie and House By the Cemetery BDs in that HME offer. Paid by PayPal, so I'm covered should things go awry and they won't have my card details either, just a PayPal payment.

It does seem a bit suspicious, but people here have reported receiving their orders, even if it was a bit of a wait. How long do they usually take, on average?

darthelvis 22nd December 2011 07:24 AM

Varies I've received stuff the same week as ordering or other times it has taken 4-6 weeks.

antmumford 22nd December 2011 07:31 AM

I never thought I'd say this but at £6.40 ish for a BU Blu-ray I'd be happy to wait months to be honest. :tongue1:

darthelvis 22nd December 2011 07:38 AM

Totally agree!

The Dead Blu Ray is only £6.99 in the play sale. I couldn't resist!

It's a DVD and I really don't know much about the product itself, but you can't have too much Evil Dead!

I have been waiting for it to drop under the £10 mark as it is a fantastic film. I posted this deal up a couple of pages back but at the time I had no money but as I just got paid today I may have to treat myself..... again..... for the 5th time this month.

oaxaca 22nd December 2011 08:21 AM

THE EXPENDABLES "BULLETPROOF" LIMITED EDITION 3 DISC Tin = £7.99 on amazon and play right now. Just grabbed myself a copy. Wouldn't usually buy new action films on blu but as the film is a throwback to the greatest decade in human history :p and is in a nice tin I couldn't resist.

But they always come through?

PaulD 22nd December 2011 01:25 PM

Regarding the Living Social 3 referrals thing from the other day, I emailed them asking what the process was and got this back:

Quote:

In response to your recent Help Request #02276154: "Sharing/Rewards Issue - Me + 3" we would like to provide you with the following solution.

Your refund request will be processed and depending upon your banking institution, the refund should be posted to your account within 3-5 business days. If any additional information is required to complete your request, we'll contact you.

Please note that once your refund request has been processed, it cannot be reversed for any reason.

Just need to keep an eye on the refund going back now. Just though I'd post this in case people were uncertain and thought they might not get theirs for free.

That's what I'd like to have heard, but my email response was "you didn't get any referrals, you needed to get people to use your link first"
Well that's funny when I've already received an email stating how popular I must be as three people have used my link. Doughnuts
