That's a good price - I've heard that the PQ on that release isn't too great, though.

oaxaca 11th March 2011 03:19 PM

Its the original. But yeh the PQ isn't so great apparently from what I've read and like Bizarre_eye says.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 11th March 2011 03:57 PM

It's very tempting, but I'll stick with the DVD for the time being. Do you know if there are any new extra features?

bdc 11th March 2011 03:59 PM

I would like to get the oop Canadian bd,pic quality is the identical I think but the cover is much better imho...

oaxaca 11th March 2011 04:02 PM

This says all the extras...I think they are a port from an earlier special edit dvd release but upscaled to 1080i. This particular review doesn't overly slate the picture, rather says the heavy grain and general softness go hand in hand with a film of this type. Another review said the clarity had improved over the dvd markedly BUT the image in general could have been restored to a greater extent with a little more care and attention.

After reading about that WINSTANLEY, having never heard of it, it seems like a really interesting film. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Here's an ebay.com bargain for anyone interested in the CLASSIC 30's hollywood technicolour spectacle that is THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD. Given 8.1/10 on IMDB and most reviews are giving the (region-free) BD 10/10 in terms of AV and supplements :D

only £6.09 ($9.54) with free p&p to the UK...Thats a good £5 cheaper than I've seen it anywhere else :D
