haha yeah until i run out of money which wont be long at this rate :P

the blob 4th May 2012 08:05 PM

I'm surprised they've kept Suspiria at a premium price for so long. Probably helps that there's only an Italian and expensive Japanese release as well.

I still haven't bought it bug may have to soon if I get it at a decent price. I've kind of held off to see if it gets another release with the contrast not so extreme and a better cover!

Paul@TheOverlook 4th May 2012 08:08 PM

Nouveaux don't tend to reduce prices.

PaulD 4th May 2012 08:11 PM

I'm sure I bought a brand new/sealed copy of Suspiria at the start of last year for about £8 on Play.com. It was one of my first BD purchases.

edit: on reflection, I think it was on eBay. Move along...nothing to see here...

Paul 5th May 2012 01:04 PM

Just a pity the artworks suck.

I don't mind a couple of them. I quite like Blues Brothers... but maybe that's just because the blue fits with the title.

VicDakin 5th May 2012 01:15 PM

Celebrating 100years was a great opportunity to have some lovely original artwork on those BD's and dvds.

Meant to stick this up yesterday but I'm sure it still applies:

The following are both <£5 on planet axel along with quite a few others:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

and they also have hundreds of blu rays at £6.60 too including:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

Obviously, the free shipping makes these excellent value.

Great poster, I have the rerelease quad (which admittedly isn't as nice) from a few years ago, framed in my hall.

That's still pretty cool Paul!

£6.97!

Miracle in Milan +II Tetto Dual Format Edition Blu-ray 1951: Amazon.co.uk: Emma Gramatica, Francesco Golisano, Paolo Stoppa, Vittorio De Sica: Film & TV

antmumford 8th May 2012 04:19 PM

What? You're bloody kidding me. I thought I was getting a good deal with Arrow's Bogof offer.
Arrow Academy normally hold their value too, I guess it's cos it's no longer a slipbox so collectors would stop collecting them, hence less sales.

I do believe that the loss of sales from OCD collectors outweighs the cost of making some boxes up. I'm sure time will tell anyway

oaxaca 8th May 2012 06:48 PM

Amazon.com are selling quite a few digibooks at $9.99 which equates to £10.60 after delivery (slowest delivery option). Bit of a bargain really!

Includes THE HUSTLER, ROCKY, BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID, NATURAL BORN KILLERS,
TORA TORA TORA, ALL ABOUT EVE, AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER, PATTON, USUAL SUSPECTS, TERMINATOR

I think thats the lot but could be wrong. Doubt this sale will last too long, possibly a week.

Amazon.com: blu ray digibook

PaulD 8th May 2012 07:48 PM

Gaah, so tempted but oh so skint. Will refrain and hope it drops to a similar price in the future.

oaxaca 11th May 2012 07:16 PM

Chinatown up for pre-order on Zavvi at £8.95 !! 1 day only I think. That's £3 less than the previous lowest price.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 11th May 2012 07:25 PM

There is a deal on at arrowfilms.co.uk where the four upcoming Limited Edition Blu-ray releases are £48 with free delivery.

I cancelled my pre-orders and ordered Demons, Demons 2, Forbidden Zone and The House by the Cemetery.

£12 each is pretty good value.

wongfeihung62 14th May 2012 08:15 PM

Got this from HMV for £3.00

I don't know if it's exactly a bargain, but I just paid less than 12 pounds for "Alien 2 On Earth" at Planet Axel, the cheapest I have seen it so far and surely a worthy addition to any Italian Horror Collection

Good find! Just put my order in - I've wanted to see this for ages (and I know it's not meant to be very good, okay people? :))

Planet Axel's current free shipping policy is the best.

Very true although, as it leads to increased orders and more expense from us, the customers, it must be a good marketing move by them.

I'm certainly not complaining though!

Totally. Their prices are always really good but when they changed their shipping and handling costs it was never worth my while ordering from them as I never buy in bulk and so it was too expensive. I've bought a lot more the last few weeks with their free shipping deal.

Which is apparently coming to an end on the 31th of May :(

BAKA 19th May 2012 11:59 AM

I was kind of hoping after it being free for so long they'd see the benefits and keep it free. I'll be sure to get all my pre-orders sorted, as I find their shipping charges a turn off.

Obsession and Les Diabolique are £6.99 from Arrow direct until 4pm today, as part of a one hour sale.

Just bought them both together for 17,63 but I'm not sure it was accepted as the site is obviously not working properly at the moment.
@PaulD
Has your order on "Alien 2 on Earth" already been shipped?

I think Axel had some issues with stock and it's getting sent from the supplier. Basically, the last I heard was it would be in the uk postal system 3-4 days from 19th May, so should be due soon.

Cheers! Would never have known otherwise. Just got in with a couple of mins to spare for Obsession. :)

Worldpay accepted payment so I'm assuming it's all good.

Same thing here and obviously the same experience a lot of people on fb have - so I hope it'll be alright :)

Gojirosan 22nd May 2012 03:25 PM

I had hassles with Arrow's Checkout system. Had to disable NoScript in the end in order to get through!

They should look into that.

Psh. One hour sale. How annoying :tongue1: . . .

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 22nd May 2012 09:55 PM

Plus, it seems a really bizarre time to keep doing it (when the majority of people are at work)

I know. I guess they probably wouldn't be able to afford it if they did it in the early evening when more people are online maybe?
