I have only ordered from amazon.fr and .co.uk, any shipping costs from .es?

Vampix 1st October 2012 01:03 AM

Odeon Entertainment's Witchfinder General Blu-ray is going for £9.95 at Zavvi.com, that's the cheapest I've seen it selling at.Second Sight's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Blu-ray is going for £6.95 at Zavvi too. :)

the blob 1st October 2012 12:30 PM

Thought this was a bargain. Ordered the US Region Free BD of Soylent Green from Amazon Marketplace. Lots of sellers have it around £7.50 inc shipping at the moment. I doubt it'll be lots cheaper even if it ever does get a UK release.

3 for £17 at Amazon UK - 30 odd pages of Blus, not a stellar selection but you might find something...

Baseball Fury 3rd October 2012 11:47 AM

Just ordered a Sylvester Stallone box set in-store at HMV, £12 for

Cobra
Demolition Man
Assassins
The Specialist
Tango & Cash

Bargain.

Nice find! I bought it even though I already own Cobra and T&C. It was worth it for 3 films. Great bargain for 5!

Baseball Fury 4th October 2012 06:33 AM

There's a De Niro set for the same price, I think it's Heat, Goodfellas, The Mission and Ronin

It's Heat, Goodfellas, The Mission and Once Upon A Time In America.

Wes 4th October 2012 07:58 AM

Amazon US have Criterion's Seven Samurai Blu and Samurai Trilogy Blu as part of their Deal of the Day ($25/$35 bucks respectively)

I have all these - nice transfers, the lot of them.

Baseball Fury 4th October 2012 10:25 AM

Along similar lines, I watched Passenger 57 on TCM HD last night, is there a BD out there at all?

Don't think so, not a film I'm too bothered about, to be honest. I saw it in the cinema and must have seen it at least once when it was released on rental VHS too but I caught some of it on telly a year ago and couldn't believe how dated it looked now. Not something I'd be bothered about picking up on Blu-ray.

Edgeworth 9th October 2012 09:54 AM

King of New York steelbook £11 at Play.com sold by zavvioutlet

Arrow store has got it's £40 for 5 blus on selected titles also.

Refused 10th October 2012 04:17 PM

Touch of Evil steelbook is currently £15 in-store at HMV, at least it was at mine. They had a section with a few clearance blu-rays.

Daemonia 11th October 2012 12:05 AM

HMV is 15 miles from where I live. Travelling there would nullify any potential saving.

Sad, but true. Online is the only place I buy DVD/BD's from.

BAKA 13th October 2012 04:28 PM

Zavvi have some more Hammer stuff in their upcoming Mega Monday. Probably of most interest are the ones due out on the 22nd.

Rasputin: The Mad Monk - £11.45
The Devil Rides Out - £11.45
The Mummy's Shroud - £11.45

They seem a fair bit cheaper than current pre-order prices (although these prices include the burden of Zavvi's despatch speeds:P), but they're not titles I've been tracking, so perhaps there have been better pre-order deals for them? I think there are a few sites which give you a 10% off code if you click through and buy something (I found a link on twitter last week and it worked, but can't remember the link; it's worth investigating). Some of the older Hammer releases are there too.

Great spot, I haven't checked my email yet! I have them on pre-order from Zavvi for £14.95 each, soon change that!

BAKA 13th October 2012 04:37 PM

They haven't sent an e-mail yet, I've bookmarked the Mega Monday page. They usually set it all up on a Saturday, so I have a sneaky peak. Sometimes they save reducing the odd thing until the Sunday. They could recude them more, but it seems unlikely.

Rik 13th October 2012 04:49 PM

That will explain why the email I got from Zavvi doesn't mention the Mega Monday sale

Thanks for the spot. Although The Mummy's Shroud has already been shipped, I'm trying to cancel the other two and reorder them at the lower price.

To be honest, it seems like a bit of a cheap trick by Zavvi, exploiting those who preordered the titles and I wish they had a pre-order price guarantee like Amazon.

Are you sure you don't mean Curse of Frankenstein shipped? Mummy's Shroud isn't out until the 22nd. I've had mine on order at HMV which are usually a lot faster than Zavvi and no sign of anything shipping there.

How come your Mummy's Shroud has shipped, it's not due until the 22nd, did you mean Curse of Frankenstein?

According to their website, they do have a pre-order price guarantee but I decided to cancel and re-order anyway

I mixed up the two titles, so yes – The Curse of Frankenstein has been shipped, not The Mummy's Shroud.

Fantastic spot, they are all about 3 quid cheaper than the ones I had on pre-order from HMV so that great :D

Slippery Jack 14th October 2012 07:35 AM

Hmmm ok I'm gonna check my banks balance and maybe get onto this  bought The Reptile last night from Zavvi for £9 with a 10% off code . . .

doolahrock 15th October 2012 04:19 PM

Some good stuff in the Zavvi Mega Monday this week. I ordered -

Del Toro Box Set - Special Edition Collection Blu-ray | Zavvi.com

The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) Blu-ray | Zavvi.com

Awesome price for the Del Toro set, especially with the 10% off code.

However, some of the estimated delivery times are utterly insane and not what the site suggested at all. Bought some Studio Ghibli for my wife's Christmas and one of them is estimated at the 12th of December

Wes 15th October 2012 04:21 PM

Some good discounts on the BFI's Kurosawa boxsets as well over at Zavvi (but they're DVD only)...

Delirium 15th October 2012 06:58 PM

Where is this elusive 10% code everyone speaks of?

My girlfriend received a personalised one the other day which I tried to use on these 3 new Hammers but it didn;t work, I don;t think it liked the pre-order thing.
