You can get Mill Creek's Hostel 1 and 2 blu ray for less than 3.50 delivered on amazon at the moment. No extras but still a bargain.

Daemonia 22nd October 2012 01:21 AM

I thought the Hostel films were Sony properties? How have Mill Creek got them? Are Sony licensing stuff to Mill Creek as well now?

Invid Ninja 22nd October 2012 06:55 AM

Short Answer: Yes. Here is the long answer.

Kentai's Films: The Grand Duel at Mill Creek

Hope this helps.

steveoramone 22nd October 2012 07:56 AM

Does anyone know what region code that Hostel double feature disc is?

Paul@TheOverlook 22nd October 2012 09:40 AM

Mill Creek's Disney titles were Locked to Region A, I'd expect the Sony stuff to be no different.

Del Toro Box Set - Special Edition Collection Blu-ray | Zavvi.com

The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) Blu-ray | Zavvi.com

Awesome price for the Del Toro set, especially with the 10% off code.

However, some of the estimated delivery times are utterly insane and not what the site suggested at all. Bought some Studio Ghibli for my wife's Christmas and one of them is estimated at the 12th of December

:) thanks! bought Del Toro box set, great price!

Slippery Jack 28th October 2012 05:28 PM

Silent Running Steelbook £11.95 at Zavvi. Didn't like the film myself, but sounds a sweet deal for a MOC steelie . . .

fuzzymctiger 31st October 2012 10:11 PM

Barnes & Noble have a 50% off Criterion sale. Includes everything except the most recent announcment and OOP Titles.

I don't think so. And now Movie Mars are in on the act selling it for £651.26. What a bargain!

Was it a Mr S. Seagal by any chance?

fuzzymctiger 6th November 2012 05:51 AM

Mighty pissed off right now.

Go away for 4 days without Internet, come back, ****ing Barnes & Noble have decided that the 2 titles I was eyeing off in the Criterion sale, Qatsi Trilogy and Heavens Gate, are NO LONGER eligible, despite being included before, and jumped the prices.

I've shot them an email regarding this, mighty pissed as these were going to be Christmas presents, my first Criterion titles, and my first region locked titles.

Hugh 6th November 2012 11:36 AM

For those, like me, who bought The Twilight Zone blu-rays of seasons 1 - 4 when they were around £18 and season 5 was still £35+, you can now complete your collection.

Season 5 is now £16.99 at play.

It's still £6, I've just grabbed myself a copy and seeing as Arrow have just announced that it is sold out and being replaced with the dual format edition, I'd say snap them up at this price before the vultures do and try flog them on ebay for triple the price!

I think they have been re-added to the sale. They're not titles I've been keeping track of, but they appear to be half price on B&N when I was just looking now. Rashomon which went out of the sale is also back in, for anyone who is interested.

Re: B&N - Me too... see my post from earlier

fuzzymctiger 8th November 2012 05:14 AM

They did it again the bastards!!!!
It's back up to $68! If this is a trend, it should $40 again tomorrow, and then maybe I can order it.

Justin101 19th November 2012 01:19 PM

I've just ordered the Austin Powers Trilogy on Blu from the US via Amazon.com for only just over £10 delivered. Bargain for 3 great comedies I think

Hmmm. Reckon I'm happy with my Universal DVD boxset till I hear some reviews to persuade me otherwise . . .

Nemesis 21st November 2012 03:38 PM

For me, it depends how far it drops - if below £65, I might might try and bite, but if beyond I'll wait. My guess is that it'll probably be between £70-75.

BAKA 21st November 2012 03:55 PM

I just ordered it from Zavvi this morning for £76.46 :censored: (with a mystery discount code they sent me). They haven't shipped it yet though, so if it's much cheaper at Amazon I think I'll buy it (if it doesn't sell out instantly) and cancel from Zavvi o.O.

I get the feeling it's going to be one of those releases that drops dramatically fast in price, but I just can't hold off any longer, it's such a long time since I've seen some of these movies.

Rik 21st November 2012 04:16 PM

£61.75 for anybody who's interested, 36% claimed as I type

BAKA 21st November 2012 04:18 PM

I got my order in :woot: Canceled my Zavvi order too. So happy, I was willing to pay so much more.

doolahrock 21st November 2012 04:51 PM

Kubrik box set up on Zavvi for only £19.95. Even less if you have the discount code. Great set if you don't have it.

Stanley Kubrick Collection Blu-ray | Zavvi.com

BAKA 21st November 2012 05:17 PM

Oh joy, after canceling my Zavvi order, they magically bring the shipping date forward and tell me it's too late to cancel. What a cretinous bunch. Having to initiate a refund request before they've even shipped it . I bet if I hadn't canceled it the order would have sat for days unmoving.

Oh well £15 is too much of a price difference to ignore, the hassle is more than worth it.

Nemesis 21st November 2012 06:50 PM

Sorry to hear that Baka and I think you're right - nothing would be happening if you had not cancelled.

I pulled the trigger on this deal, but then I had to cancel. I simply cannot justify it; there's too many other things that I want and I have not watched these enough on dvd to justify an upgrade.

Nemesis 21st November 2012 06:52 PM

I should also point out that the Pete Walker blu collection is going for a very reasonable price on Amazon marketplace - just a little over £36.

Plus the obligatory customs/PO charges. So you'd be looking at nearer £50 for that set. I think I'll wait. ;)

Ah...no actually - I did not use supermart usa; I used Wingrove9509 (you might want to check out the location of dispatch ;)) It's also region locked, so I'm caving in and going region free.

BAKA 23rd November 2012 12:50 PM

The Universal Classic Monsters set on Amazon's Black Friday just went stupidly quick. Thankfully I managed to get an order in for £22.50. :woot:
