I missed out on battlestar galactica for 30 last night or this morning, not sure which but at 8am it was sold out and waitlist was full, was so gutted. Good deal on monsters set but I missed it too. Had the chance for hitch, but backed out, it's still 60 quid and it's almost Christmas, sigh...

Grab this one quick if you're a Hitchcock fan!

The Alfred Hitchcock Collection Blu-ray 1951 Region Free: Amazon.co.uk: Cary Grant, Farley Granger, Grace Kelly, Alfred Hitchcock: Film & TV

11.25!

Dial M For Murder is selling for 17/18 on it's own at the moment and it's the only way to get Strangers On A Train here.

Nice spot! I was hesitant but since it was a Lightning Deal felt I should snap it up. If North By Northwest is identical to the one I already have I'll sell it on.

Good spot, wasn't planning on getting this at full price so at that price you can't go wrong, even though I have North by Northwest. I can exchange that one at CEX to make this set even cheaper still. Result! :woot:

Aren't those films already in the Hitchcock set you got the other week?

The films in the boxset of three are owned by Warners. The ones in the larger Masterpiece Collection are owned by Universal.

It's a shame the smaller set doesn't include the other films from the similar DVD set (I Confess being one of them, I forget the other)

Yeah. Whenever his films are release in sets they generally fall into 3 categories: his early British Films, the Warners Hollywood ones and the later Universal Hollywood ones

Yup. A little annoying how Universal called their latest set the 'Masterpiece Collection' - quite a few gaps there . . . !

Rik 28th November 2012 07:37 PM

I just assumed that the Masterpiece Collection contained pretty much every one of his films, not a massive fan of Hitch so I never looked into it

Baseball Fury 28th November 2012 10:30 PM

The other films missing from this set (based on the DVD) are Stage Fright and The Wrong Man.

Little Shop of Horrors is down to $15 on Amazon.com now. Comes to about 14 after postage. Much more agreeable than the $25 it was at a while back.

Amazon.com: Little Shop of Horrors: Director's Cut [Blu-ray]: Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Vincent Gardenia, Steve Martin, James Belushi, John Candy, Bill Murray, Frank Oz, Miles Goodman, David Geffen, Howard Ashman: Movies & TV

Just bought the Raro Fernando DI Leo crime collection from Amazon.com, $12.99! Unreal price.

Nice spot. It's out-of-stock at the moment, but I've ordered one anyway - can't say no at that price!

Hitchcock Box Set Blu-ray | Zavvi.com

PaulD 30th November 2012 02:22 PM

Some excellent deals on Arrows website at the minute. Loads of dvds at 3.99 and a lot of blurays at 7.99 (including some Arrow Academy too). Plus Lady Snowblood steelbook for 12.99

Arrowfilms

(to be honest everything's so cheap I feel it's too good to be true!)

Baseball Fury 30th November 2012 03:38 PM

I hope it's not too good to be true, I just ordered Rififi, Red Scorpion, Les Diaboliques and Two Evil Eyes!

Definitely isn't; they've mentioned it on Twitter. The sale was announced in their email newsletter but it only listed a few titles and say "and more" but since pretty much everything that's been out for some time is reduced I assumed a mistake might have occurred. It's a great sale and I might also order The Conformist later on.

Edgeworth 30th November 2012 10:03 PM

The Woman on Play.com, not sure if it's any good but worth a punt for 3

Play.com - Buy The Woman (Blu-ray) online at Play.com and read reviews. Free delivery to UK and Europe!

'The Woman' is fantastic and well worth ordering especially at that price.

Yes, it does. A bargain in any language. But the waiting now will kill me. :D

Have you already got this? Any good?

Paul@TheOverlook 1st December 2012 09:16 AM

I've not got the Blu-rays, I have the Italian DVDs. Have you not seen the films, mate? If not you're in for a treat - MILANO CALIBRO 9 and LA MALA ORDINA are two of the very best Italian crime films. I ordered the Blu-ray box too, btw.

Daemonia 1st December 2012 11:44 AM

The only one in that set I've seen is Milano Calibro 9, so I'm looking forward to seeing those others in the set. I always intended to pick this set up at some point, but the cheap price was too good to pass up, so I dived straight in. :)
