Anime pricing is weird, you'd be paying £35 for a 13 episode season where the eps are only 20 minutes, stops me buying a lot of the time as you can get CrunchyRoll for £7 a month

budgeting help needed.

i'm going to try and budget a bit better this year. sales will often appear after i've spent my monthly budget and leave me regretting not holding out a bit longer.

does anyone keep a schedule of when the sales from distributors and retailers are most likely to happen during the year? e.g Arrow, 88, Criterion, Eureka, Network, HMV, etc, etc...?

having a schedule would also help identify months where i could concentrate on imports.

if there was a list (thread?) posted as a sticky it would be also helpful to all forum members.

in answer to my own enquiry a little research shows that this was a rough schedule of sales last year:

I bought some from that offer in early December – I think it ran in November and December, but don't know how often (or when) it is repeated.

There are also the numerous Black Friday sales in Nov. Most are an over-hyped wash-out, but some stick out - Vinegar Syndrome's is usually pretty good.

If you are near a branch of FOPP, they seem to have an Arrow and/or 88Films sale every few months

Arrow also usually do much shorter sales with less sale stock between the two major ones in around April and October from memory

There's been other Network ones as well. Last year there was a tv one and a British Film one, then there was a small one in January this year with around 50 items in it.
