Man Bites Dog is a cracking film.
Cant see how it passed 'uncut' when first submitted in the 90's. There's definitely a few nasty murders in it , though parts are definitely 'laugh out loud' funny, till you realise what your laughing about.
Having 2 daughters I found the Ben killing the kid in the home invasion scene very disturbing.

Was that online or in their shops? - I was looking at The Ordeal in there on Sunday following Peter Neal's review but it was ?20. I might have to have another look next week if so. They did have the Alien and Predator box set for ?12 which I'm thinking I should pick up.

Cool - my local Tesco seem to regularly sell 80s DVDs at three quid a pop but on a very ad hoc basis. I've recently picked up the likes of Predator, Beverly Hills Cop, Wierd Science, The Running Man, Cobra, Police Academy and this weekend the Blue Dolphin release of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I'll look out for Deathwish as I don't already have it.

Well I broke the habit of a life time and ventured into Poundland in search of these this weekend and picked up Aenigma, The Child and Hitch Hike to Hell.

I'm just hoping no one saw me coming out of there or I may never live it down

Picked up a rake of Tartan DVS for a song in ZAVVI yesterday......
THE PORNOGRAPHER- 5 QUID
DRIVING LESSONS 4 QUID
36- 4 QUID
BASKET CASE SIX QUID
TAXIDERMIA 5 QUID
They seem to be selling a LOT of Tartan's cheap, whilst HMV are doing the opposite and selling at full whack ,cashing in on Tartan's demise......

Yeah, it was in the shop Dougal, I went in on saturday and was really surprised. It's not often I go into Zavvi anymore (They're usually terrible when it comes to stocking good films) but unfortunaltey I already had most of the good ones. (btw, the ordeal is one messed up film, hope you like it not sure if like's the right word though lol)

Spot on Vip's, Man Bites Dog is a superb film Think I might have to upgrade to DVD now that Zavvi have it on sale as I have the Tartan vhs, it's fully uncut but better to have it on dvd.

Basket Case for six quid Reaps? I wish Leeds Zavvi stocked that. They only have it in HMV here and it's 20 quid! Really need to get that tartan grindhouse release of it.

The Stink Of Flesh wasn't too bad actually H22. Well worth it for a quid.

Packed with extras too!!

I saw it as a tongue in cheek zombie flick with some very original moments..

Sat through Cold Grip on Sunday

Not bad too!!! Although there is a lot of padded out dialogue to extend the running time

Can any of you who own the Tartan dvd release of "Man Bites Dog" confirm for me whether or not it's anamorphic? I bought it years ago, but I can't remember if I bought it on vhs or dvd. Point being that I seem to remember the subs being cut off along the bottom of the screen when I watched it in the proper aspect ratio. I loved the film, but couldn't enjoy it because of that so brought it back to the shop. (I hate stretching films, urgh.)

I'd love to get it again, but if the subs are ****ed and I can't watch it in the proper AR I'd rather not bother.
