Picked up dead mans hand,as it was the only one i aint got. Seems the stirling branch has much the same stock as others countrywide, although when i was in the falkirk one last week the only titles they had were, at the earths core and cutting moments, plus loads of fishing and steam train grot. |

The same insipid stuff clogging the shelves of the Gateshead Metro Centre branch i visited the other day! Next to no even half-decent horror titles and there was some obscure kung fu releases but the only decent DVD was HKL's The Hand Of Death. Definitely a bargain for those fans who don't already own a copy. |

I managed to watch it until the end but what a waste of talent it was to put Michael Berryman and Sid Haig in this film. The acting all round wasn't bad but the script was terrible! Come on Charles Band you directed TRANCERS! You can do better than this. For a pound though it was great!

Could you please confirm that this DVD is in anamorphic widescreen (as it's 4.3 according to the cover) and let me know if the PQ and extras are any good? Cheers for any info you can give. |

Nothing else of interest i'm afraid. Just some decidedly dodgy looking DVDs of kung fu films i've never heard of and the only face i recognised on one of the covers was Alexander Lo Rei! THOD was by far the only decent HK title i found at my local Poundland. It's a shame they didn't have a few more of HKL's ultra-bit releases as the above effort is the only one i have! |

I got Woo's "Hand Of Death" (lovely version too, superb picture) and "Cold Case Files" double bill last week at my local Poundland, but there were no Hallowe'en horror DVDs on the shelf then. Thanks to this thread, I know where I will be heading on Monday!

I still keep my R1 THOD for inclusion of the original trailer and the PQ's nice too. HKL's edition may lack the above extra but it does boast an exclusive commentary and most probably an improved transfer. For £1 you really can't go wrong with this release and any true fan of THOD should definitely invest in a copy. |
