I miss the 23rd Century days, managed to find a couple of amazingly obscure films in pound shops - a Bermuda Triangle movie starring Gianni Garko and an old Jugoslavian WW2 film.

Since then I did managed to find Franco's Nightmares Come at Night (link to my review), and glad I only spent a pound on it as the film is pretty dire - the Eurotika documentary on Eurociné was worth seeing though.

It's a Jess Franco film, aren't almost all of them boring?

Yip,or faceless,or even at a push....cannibals. Thats about it,possibly devil hunter and, maybe, just maybe, oasis of the zombies,a real guilty pleasure of mine.

I have never understood the appeal of franco's output, for every half decent film he's made, theres another 10 godawful flicks to back it up.
If he didnt have such a cult fanbase, most of his output wouldnt be out of place under the film 2000 banner...its that bad!

or the braindamage label, you'd have to have braindamage to enjoy those.

Yeah Bloody Moon was quite good.

His work with Harry Alan Towers (eg. 'Venus in Furs' and 'Eugenie: Descent into Perversion') is very impressive and worth watching as is 'Vampyros Lesbos'

I've got a handful of Franco reviews on my Jess Franco Guide with a few titles worth seeing.
