Well, no sign of "Phenomena" sadly, but my local Poundland did have the Platinum "Cat...". I also bought several really lame looking slasher flicks ("Sickle", "The Jackhammer Massacre", "Jigsaw" and "Evil Breed: The Legend Of Samhain"). Which was nice.

Then a quick look in PoundWorld dug up a version of "The House By The Cemetery" (oh how gloriously confused was my girlfriend at my bringing a fourth copy of that into the house!) that I have never seen before (the label seems to be called "Agplate" ) and Orson Welles's "The Stranger". Oh and a widescreen "High Society" for me ma!

So, a big DVD day for very little pounds!

Wish I had found "Phenomena" though...

Thought i'd resurrect this thread as it's that time of year again and Poundland have started getting their Halloween stock in including a new batch of horror DVD's , popped in today while I was out and about in town and they've got some pretty decent releases this year (compared with last years Hard Gore back catalogue anyway ) don't remember all of them but stand outs included Argento's Phenomena and Bird with the Crystal Plumage, Dead Mans Hand and Live Feed which I bought for the annoyingly whopping price of £16.99 on it's release!

Tried to watch "Sickle" (aka "The Slaughterhouse Massacre") last night.

It was just abysmal. Had to turn it off less than 20 minutes in. I feel ripped off paying a quid for it! I am intruigued to see if "Jigsaw" could possibly be worse.

I like a lot of bad films, but there are limits!

Quite liked skinned alive, and jackhammer massacre is probably joe castros best film.If you've seen the likes of butchered and maniacal, this is slightly better.

Wasnt to struck on skinned deep and live feed though.

I picked up four Argento films, "Bird With The Crystal Plumage ", "Cat O' Nine Tails ", "Phenomena " and "Deep Red ". I'm particularly happy with "Deep Red " as it contains the 123 minute Italian version and also the 100 minute English dubbed one. I'm not expecting great quality but you really can't go wrong for a £1 each.

Anyone know if there are any other Argento films doing the Poundland rounds?
