I really love this episode for a couple of reasons. Firstly it has a wonderful central performance by Roddy McDowell. Secondly, the ending is just so dark and misanthropic. The ending isn't a twist as such; there's no deception of the audience. The audience more or less find things out at the same time as the main character.

I agree, I love this one. Probably one of the ones that sticks in my head most from my childhood.

I find the little celebratory handshake by the two alien men slightly amusing now, it's almost like they high five each other!

Yes,great to see Mcdowell in a setting similar to the one which would make him famous......and that slap in the face ending-wonderful!

I just love Roddy MacDowell. what a fantastic actor. this is a good episode, made great by him starring in it. It's a interesting tale. was his greatest role in Planet of the Apes and can the new POTA film be as good?

Totally didn't realise it was Roddy Macdowell in this episode! Seems to have an extra irony to it now.

Great episode, such a fantastically bleak ending. I love all the space exploration episodes of The Twilight Zone actually.

I like this episode a lot. Then again I always considered Season 1 my favourite.
