I'll always love this one. Clugman was great as ever, although it's pretty much the same performance he gives in Passage For Trumpet. Similar frustrated characters I suppose. A rather short and to the point opening and closing narration from Serling. One of the eps that always comes to mind first for me when someone mentions The Twilight Zone. |
I've just watched this episode and it's my favourite of season 3 so far. Jack Klugman (making his 2nd of four appearances in the twilight zone) is excellent. I prefered this performance and story to the passage for trumpet episode, but they are indeed similar as mentioned above. I thought that Jonathan Winters as Fats Brown was also very good. the two make a great pair and play off each other really well. great to see by checking the imdb that both of these guys are still doing well into their 90s! |
Now this is what TZ is all about. Fast talking characters, sharp dressed 60s cool, the entire plot unravelling in one room, high stakes and a lesson learned. All in under 25 minutes. Perfect! |
