On the other hand it has far less cuts than the Redemption video and back in 1970 the BBFC decreed that we couldn't see it at all.

Looks good to me Almar.

1 Minute cut isn't short.I am living in Turkey and i will wait for an uncut version or buy Japanese DVD with burnt in subtitles. But i must admit that BBFC is really a video nasty.I understand censoure for cannibal films. But movies like "irreversible" passed uncut and thay are cutting a movie shot in 1969.

If Irreversible, Like Venus in Furs, had shown a woman "enjoying" her rape ordeal then the BBFC would almost certainly have cut it as well.

Straw Dogs only got through after 2 initial rejections by the BBFC and a consultation with a team of psychologists.

Sure is - far closer to the novel. It also has more horse sperm - in fact I thought that was more likely for the cut!

Woah, just thrown this baby on for the first time. That's some serious horseplay

Not what I expected prior to watching it - caught me off guard to begin with with its apparent similarity to the book. Very poetic, yet very disturbing.

An interesting watch, only halfway through but intriguing nonetheless. Can't fault the tranfer either - I'm really happy with the way it looks on screen.
