I might still go for a copy if I find it cheap. I tend to pick up things like that.
True. It seems to me to try and relate the themes and contexts of the films with wider society. Personally for me thats no bad thing. I am deeply interested in Current Affairs and Politics and so such a approach wouldn't bother me in the slightest. If it is written too much like a scientific research paper then it may end up boring me however.

That's exactly how it is, mate. It's ok if you're in the mood for that sort of thing, but as a film fan, I'm fairly disappointed. It mainly focuses on Ilsa, Salon Kitty and The Night Porter, but ventures into the more obscure flicks, as well. It reads more like a bunch of thesis papers than a real narrative.

Did anyone ever get a copy of 'SEX, DEATH AND SWASTIKAS: NAZI EXPLOITATION SSINEMA'? It seemed to go OOP very quickly and now commands ridiculous prices.

Here's a thread that needs reviving !!

Auschwitz (Uwe Boll)

The 8 minute 'history lesson' at the beginning the greatest sop to 'responsibility' I've ever seen btw ...

Follow the wacky adventures of the SS as they plumb the depths of inhuman depravity ... and then it's back to the 'education'. Concentrating on the logistics ... with a direct nod to Schindler's List's failure to show all ahem. A strange beast. Recommended? ??

Double bill with Shoah??

I thought Boll had given up directing films.

Was it a film? Your reviews can be hard to decipher, D.

So was this

Bookended by real footage and verite stuff with modern Germans (of all creeds) about the subject, you get about an hour long thing that does 'go there' ... but not much else. Am dying to listen to the comm .. but not tonight . Oh, and the symbols on the menu are swastikas, just in case you were wondering ...

Nazisploitation like all 'sploitation' films are highly overrated IMO. I've seen most of them, and not deemed one to be worthy of adding to my h/d.

Although not a Nazisploitation film, Irreversible (2002) is of the genre, and it sticks in my mind as being most disturbing ... yet memorably so!
