Watched THE MAN FROM HONG KONG and LONG WEEKEND last night.
Must've been Mick Dundee on film 4 that put me in the mood.

Was flicking between the commentary on TMFHK and Trenchard-Smith is (unnecessarily) too harsh on himself.
IT'S AN ACTION CLASSIC with a cracking theme song!

I watched the interviews with the cast-apparently Wang Yu was a total wanker!
Having watched this film on numerous occassions, yeah he actually does come across as a rather smug bastard!
However, the action sequences and stunts more than compensate for his lack of screen charisma.

LONG WEEKEND is one of the best movies ever to emerge from down under.
The sense of isolation, eerieness and tension as the two reprehensible main characters abuse mother nature is top notch stuff. If you haven't got this classic from Second Sight Films, then you need to remedy this immediately!

Maybe Arrow can mine the Trenchard-Smith catalogue once they're finished with old Nico!

CHAIN REACTION last night with all the usual suspects present and correct,Toecutter,Goose and Fifi from Mad Max.

AND an uncredited,blink and you'll miss him....Mel....

A sort of Australian China Syndrome/Cassandra Crossing with the obligatory nudity, car chases and violence.
Pretty entertaining and shot in some beautiful locations.

The Umbrella BD is stunning looking.
Another winner from down under.

FAIR GAME tonight....
