Sleaziest Ever Film Director

Who do you think is the most sleazy film maker who ever lived? I would say Joe D'amato. Tell what you think.

I'd probably have to agree with you there Loops. They don't come much sleazier than D'amato. The guys a legend (in his own right ;))

I'd go for Germany's very own low budget ultra sleze horror/hc flick specialist, Andreas Bethmann. If you ever get the (doubtful) pleasure of watching one of his (overlong) epics like "Rossa Venezia", you'll know what I mean...:ack::p

Jess Franco

D'Amato for sure.

Jess Franco i'd say .

Nice one Vips :)

I've only seen a few of D'amato's films ie Emmanuelle in America and Trap them and Kill Them and I know he made Caligula the Untold Story. What other notable sleaze films did he make?

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 5th November 2008 07:18 PM

Erotic Nights of the Living Dead,Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals,Beyond the Darkness to name a few.....:)

I think the killer D'Amato wins it despite some very good work from Franco. Reasons? Pedro the horse, star of EMANUELLE IN AMERICA for one (nuff said;)). Jesus F. hasn't lifted cinema to that plateau as of yet to the best of my knowledge...

How about Jean Rollin? A lot of his films were fairly sleazy/trashy.

I remember watching one of his films once (I think it was Sidewalks of Bangkok or some similar name) and basically he was in a hurry to get this film made, but he only had enough script for about half an hour or so of film, so he made up the running time with endless footage filmed in the strip shows the main characters had to keep visiting for some strange reason.

To say that film was a chore to sit through was an understatement.
