Ooooh some fun films there Reaps. You have good memory! I'll ignore DOAN for now then.

I know this question is pretty hopeless, but I'm going to ask anyways. I've just got The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Pre cert, but it's in quite a poor condition. It's got a great big water stain on the cover and the actual clamshell isn't that great (though, I guess I could just swap the cover for a better condition clamshell). Is there any secrets to getting rid of that nasty water stain? Like I said, I HIGHLY doubt it's possible, but hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

I'm planning on asking Tobe Hooper to sign it - I think that's a good idea?

There were very few of then intact in my local video shop even in the 80's. They usually cut them up and put them in cases.

Don't know any cure for that Kyle....
I remember trying that on many occasions with old, tatty videos, usually ended up making it worse.

Yeah that's right Steve....SHIVERS was always one I remember.

Looks like this thread may be going the way of the VHS. Seems fitting

Just came across this brilliant blog, dedicated to VHS covers of cult films - Cult VHS

In case anyone is interested there is a big pile of pre-certs and other interesting releases up for auction on e-bay (will cost you quite bit though!):

59 Horror uncut pre-cert VHS videos on eBay (end time 14-Nov-10 14:11:44 GMT)

And no, they are not mine. (Wish they were!)

Seems like there's a lot of Dutch/Belgian releases.
Were those "strong uncut" Vipco's not for sale in the UK?
Still have a few of those...somewhere...
