Ninja III is one of the most enjoyable cheesefests from the 80s.

Oh, and btw people, the picture quality of Ninja III does improve a bit after the opening scenes. Still not great by any means, but acceptable.

My dvd version should come any day now so I'll post my thoughts on the PQ.Be interesting to see how Exteminator 2 looks on dvd when that's released, considering that's been passed over for Blu Ray edition along with Platoon Leader.

Ninja III has just arrived with Enter The Ninja & a hardboxed version of Top Fighter (Rage Of Honor) I bought from someone in Germany.Compared them & I would say Ninja III looks on par with the old Guild Video release but I'm happy enough to own it uncut. On the evidence of the picture here, fans would be wiser getting the dvd than the Blu Ray.Enter on the other hand looks far sharper & is probably quite close in quality to my Optimum dvd plus it's totally uncut.

Looks quite decent on a 4:3 television I have in the bedroom & it's a slight improvement over the tape. However, the truth of the matter is that Enter The Ninja will always look nicer as it's far better shot. You just have to check out the scene with the spider at the start to see that. The colour is very weak too, noticable as red & blue are so prevalent in the film.Looks open matte as this scene below shows that Lucinda Dickey is not really topless to an obvious degree !.

While it´s great to finally own an official release of Ninja III, I would say I´m disappointed about the PQ...

I bought the blu-ray version just to match the previous entries of the series.

The PQ is a little better than a good VHS print... but nothing more. As someone posted, it´s better to get the DVD version than the blu-ray.

One could imagine how a VHS looks up-converted to 1080p... I´m really sad.

Exactly! Especially the beginning of the film. No better than a dvd. It does get a little better after the credits (but not much). I hope Braddock: Missing In Action III is better (and widescreen).
