Female Cult Directors
 

For whatever reason the amount of female directors, compared to male, is quite slim. So, here's a thread dedicated entirely to the world of female-directed horror, cult and exploitation movies!

Besides Viva which is out now on DVD, what are some other films that fall under this? How many can you name? There's quite a handful out there - some which may surprise you.

It's not a film I like very much, but American Psycho was directed by Mary Harron.

Boys Don't cry by Kimberly Peirce.

Near Dark and Strange Days both by Kathryn Bigelow.

Exactly who I was thinking of

Amy Holden Jones the director of Slumber Party Massacre. She only went on to direct another three films, but had a successful career as a screen writer including the Beethoven films, Indecent Proposal and The Relic.

I loved The Relic! Plus the two women from Kindergarten Cop were in it :cool:
