STRANGELOVE for me but I have a massive soft-spot for WHEN THE WIND BLOWS too.

MIRACLE MILE is another cracker.

The war game was more documentary style like Threads but still a bit upsetting.

Failsafe is a "straighter" version of Strangelove ( and released about the same time)
WA is a British TV comedy adaptation with a dark edge.

I'm more of a Post Apocalyptic kind of chap myself...
