Awesome music by Ennio Morricone for Once Upon A Time In The West.
I think it maybe only the Italian version of the film that plays this theme full length at the end. English versions cut it short with the 'Cheyenne' music.

It's packed with incredible style too - it's just so freakin' AWESOME!
It's a damn fine film, my favourite of the Dollars trilogy too, and the score is fantastic!

Definitely 'Once Upon a Time in the West' for me its another picture where almost every frame is perfect much like '2001 A Space Odyssey'. When Fonda and his gang appear out of the brush with their dust coats flapping in the wind together with the music and the camera panning around to reveal Fonda is just cinema at its best. The final shootout between Fonda and Bronson is another such moment. For me this is the greatest western ever produced.

I really wouldn't like to choose between Once Upon a Time in The West and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly as to Leone's best film.

Add The Searchers (John Ford) to the two and you have the three best westerns ever.

I can't choose: it's either Once Upon a Time in the West or Once Upon a Time in America.

For me The Good, The Bad and the Ugly tops Once Upon A Time In The West. As for The Searchers i really don't get the love for that film.

For me it has to be Once Upon a Time in the West. Fonda acting against type. Morricone's memorable film soundtrack, and Tonino Delli Colli superb cinematography all add up to a truly classic western. Even though I still admire The Good, The Bad & the Ugly.

Once Upon A Time In The West is the best Sergio Leone film (and also the best Morricone soundtrack). But it's difficult to choose as all six of the films from 1964 onwards are all so damn good. It's a great shame that there was a 13 year gap between Fistful of Dynamite and Once Upon A Time In America. There could have been some great films produced during that period. Tonight, the wife and I will be watching our blu-ray of Duck You Sucker/Fistful of Dynamite.
