Read the Django Unchained review last night in Empire and they said it's a good film with 2 problems. They are Jaime Foxx is wrong for the role of Django and doesn't sound right and his lines are spoken too soft which jars against the role he's playing and the threats he makes fall apart as he says them too soft .

The 2nd thing is the story is too short for the running time of 3 hrs and it could have been told in 2 hrs

I loved it and can't wait to see it again but I agree they could've cast better than Foxx - Terrence Howard for instance.

Christoph Waltz is an amazingly captivating actor. Carnage is one to check out for his performance alone.

Nice to see Tarantino and Christoph Waltz picking up Bafta's tonight.

Together with Skyfall's win for best British film it goes to show at least one awards panel has some idea what the public like.

Best Original Screenplay, a category which these days has fewer and fewer relevant entries

Cue "Tarantino and original in the same sentence?" gag...

No matter what comes from the keyboards of naysayers, surely its better that something gets recognition that is of interest to some Cult Labbers than the usual po-faced award winners.

I don't remember it being particulary graphic in the violence there was that scene with the dogs, but anything shown was very brief . . .

EDIT: for some reason I thought I read 'for graphic violence' in the above post . . .
