Tarantino might use elements from older movies, but the execution is all his. It still takes talent to make a good movie out of his remix of ideas. Besides that his scripts are just well written pieces of work.

I can kinda imagine the endless references bothering some people, but I am glad he brings more attention to lesser known movies. I have been able to convince people to watch obscure kung fu or westerns by saying it influenced tarantino.
