blastfighter and more

I have recently been promoting Shameless at my blog
http://bloodyitaliana.blogspot.com/

Good luck with the release. A title I believe does not have a current dvd distribution that would be worthy of consideration is Lambero Bava's Italian Deliverence clone Blastfighter, one of Soipkiws few outings. It would also be nice to see someone pick up on Castellari's Jaws rip of slice of sharksploitation The Last Shark, though I suspect the latter may face legal difficulties.

Gator Bait is another title I ve long wanted to see but never seemed to have got a dvd release.

Great Blog!

We'll have to keep you informed when we start getting Giallo movies out there

The Lift reminds me of a old comic strip in Scream comic called the 13th floor.

I'd like to see the short spanish film, La Cabina, a brilliant piece of surreal horror, released.

Films I want to see on DVD

Ultimate Warrior - early 70s post apocalypse film starring Yul Brynner and Max Von Sydow. May well be mediocre but I want to check it out.
The Island, directed by Michael Ritchie and starring Michael Caine, written by Peter Benchley of Jaws fame. Pretty gory, as I remember. Also stars David Warner, so lots going for it.
Walerian Borowcyzck's Dr Jeckyll and His Women (can't remember the French title offhand). Criminal that this classic isn't on DVD anywhere. A bloody erotic masterpiece!

I know that THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR and THE ISLAND are owned by majors - Warner and Universal, I think. The Borowcyzck film is supposedly lost, something to do with the producer being in prison, or something.

Borowczyk is dead, of natural causes. I'm not sure the film is lost - more neglected; it's available on DVD-R through Truegore.com, but I'd like a proper case and a remaster.
Other films that could do with coming out - Humanoids of the Deep, starring that esteemed thesbian, Doug McClure. Also, Vice Squad, starring Wings Hauser as Ramrod. And how about Live Like A Cop, Die Like A Man, directed by Ruggereo deodato and starring Ray Lovelock ;)

A mate of mine tried to locate the rights holder to the Borowczyk film and hit a wall. The issue is something to do with the producer being in prison, or something...

LIVE LIKE A COP, DIE LIKE A MAN? Now you're talking! Great film.

Hi Pooch,

The Lift and Amsterdamned are two films along with Vamp which I would love to put out but the prices - ye gods! They're on our radar but I suspect they'll end up elswhere. The Lift and Amsterdamned had great artwork (for once we'd be able to keep them rather than make up our own). I just got my replacement Vestron Amsterdamned tape the other day as the other one was knackered from people borrowing it!

Xtro was another one I really wanted to do but it seems it's just been re-released along with the somewhat odd sequels. Has anyone seen these DVDs or bought 'em?

They appeared in my branch of HMV in a cheapy boxset for £15. No extras, ropey packaging.

Actually watched La Cabina recently, theres a very good quality rip floating about, its really is something special and I will never go into a phonebox again!!!

Antonio Mercero did a number of shorts & TV movies maybe these could feature on 1 DVD as the movie is only 35 mins. long.
