Tourist Trap

Another classic strangely devoid of UK DVD release thus far - David Schmoeller's demented, surreal 1978 slasher has gained a real cult following over the years, and would definitely benefit from a re-release, also featuring the film's prototype: Schmoeller's 1974, Academy Award-nominated, 30-minute short THE SPIDER WILL KILL YOU, which is ultra-rare but which I've had the pleasure of seeing. And man, it's BONKERS! More a character study than a horror flick, but truly dark and unsettling, with a very similar atmosphere to the more off-kilter moments in TOURIST TRAP...

...they'd make for a GREAT double bill!

Great idea, good scares, but not really a "shameless" movie :p

All the same, I'd pick up a copy, because my tape is seriously showing its age.

At the end of the day, I'd take "Tourist Trap" over Schmoeller's far gorier and campier "Puppet Master", with which this shares a few similarities in mood and content.:)

Here's another vote for Tourist Trap, I would love to see a nice special edition of this released. Preferably in BluRay. David Schmoeller has produced a newer film called Thor at the Bus Stop and you can purchase his short films from the website for each for $.99 and download them immediately. They have:

Please Kill Mr. Kinski
The Spider Will Kill You
Loralee's Bedroom

I'm unable to post links at the moment. But you can find it at www*thoratthebusstop*com in the thor store. As mentioned earlier in this thread The Spider Will Kill You, is Schmoeller's student film that inspired Tourist Trap.

Yeah I'd definitely like to see Tourist Trap make an appearance on UK DVD too.

And another vote from me. It's an excellent film.
