Default Shameless and Play.com

Hi, I'm new to this board, and I hope I chose the right forum to post this question:

I'm having a lot of trouble getting a specific Shameless title from play.com. I've been waiting forever for Night Train Murders and these days, they say the title "usually ships within 14 days". A couple of months ago, after waiting for over 5 weeks, I cancelled the order - but now I'm willing to try again.

Anything wrong? Should I order the disc from another supplier?

In all fairness, I had no problem ordering and recieving Daughters, Who Saw Her Die and Strip Nude for your Killer from Play - so I'm pretty intrigued, why this particular title never seem to be in stock?

Thanks in advance!

Play are brilliant when the items are in stock, however if the items have a lead time over a week then the chances of you getting the item are nil if it's not a top selling item.

Amazon have the title you want in stock, it's a penny cheaper and qualifies for the free P&P deal.

I'll go along with that. When Play have them in stock they're excellent in terms of delivery etc. Unfortunately they've tended to be pretty lackadaisical of late in restocking items, and quite a few people have had interminable waiting times. Amazon are much more reliable.

I logged into Play the other day, and realised there's a couple of horror films from their sale last September that are still just as 'order taken' that I'd completely forgotten about ordering.

Obviously I think they're not too worried about ordering in stock they don't have to fulfill orders!

Amazon are second to none.If you don't want to pay p&p and can wait a couple of days longer, then go for the free super saver shipping.

I use a site like http://www.find-dvd.co.uk/ to find stores that have particular discs in stock. You'd be surprised that even long OOP releases might still be in stock somewhere.

I stopped using Play.com as much when they introduced the marketplace, made it much harder to find the DVDs they actually have in stock, since you get dozens of duplicated R1 entries.

www.find-dvd.co.uk is great for books and CDs too. I've used it for years and it helps me find the cheapest available too. Play.Com were one of the best a while back, but there are plenty of other good/better places to buy from now.

I've used http://www.cashbackers.co.uk/ (looks less like a shopfront, so page loads faster) for ages but, sometimes, the price-finder search on items doesn't work as expected (query-string errors, I think).
