"The Cold Blooded Beast" and a handful of D'Amatos!

This Fernando Di Leo giallo should be right up your alley and it so far only an "X Rated" DVD - with German audio only - on R2, so there's room for improvement.

A luxurious mental clinic for women, featuring a doctor played by Klaus Kinski, lots of sleaze, a sexy score and a black gloved killer on the bloddy prowl..what else do you need?:p

Here's a link to some info and varying cover art/ releases, sadly in German:

I'd also be glad about some Joe D'Amato flicks, they'd certainly do your profile very good, particularly if you'd manage to get your hand on the "Antropophagus" version of "The Grim Reaper"...then there's of course always the chance that you might come across a way to get "Absurd2...still can't fully believe that MGM wouldn't release it out of their clutches...it's not the type of flick they'd put out anyway.

"Beyond the Darkness" could certainly be another tempting shot...or may be there's something to discover among his lesser known movies...

What's with Deodato's "Body Count"?

The "Hollywood DVD" (which is probably OOP by now) could certainly be bettered...in the collector's eye anyway.;)

Anthropophagous and Absurd would definitely make worthy releases.

Surely these would pass uncut now?

At one time I would have had a few doubts over the foetus scene in Anthropophagous. I'm pretty certain it would pass uncut now. Ditto for Absurd.

The uncut Anthropophagous has never been submitted to the BBFC. Absurd was last passed in 1983 (with 2½ mins of cuts for gory violence). Wouldn't be a problem with either now.

You have so got to try to get Absurd out. It would be an international hit!

The Italian DVD from Raro Video is the one to go for. It contains both the English and Italian dubs, English and Italian subtitles, interviews with the director and the lovely Rosalba Neri, and a smashing anamorphic transfer. The extras have optional English subtitles too.

Cold Blooded Beast/Slaughter Hotel did get a UK release under the title Asylum Erotica. I've no idea what it's like though.

Avoid the UK DVD like the plague. It is shorn of the sex and I believe some of the violence. The Italian DVD features the full length Italian version and is very sleazy indeed!

By comparison, the US DVD features a serious audio glitch and is a composite version. The French DVD features the French export version and, as such, features extra nudity, although it isn't English friendly.
