Default Werewolf and the Yeti (1975)

A Paul Naschy wolfman movie, this is one of the very few official video nasties to not be available anywhere on DVD.

It was rumoured to be on BCI's list of Spanish horror tiles, but they have sadly gone under in the last few months, so we are unlikely to see it from them.

I have not seen it myself, but I can't imagine it would have any trouble with the BBFC now, they went easy on ABUK's "Werewolf Shadow" DVD release a couple of years back.

I've been collecting Naschy's werewolf films lately, but don't have this one. I've seen dodgy bootlegs for sale online, but haven't bit the bullet yet.

So far my favorite has been Night of the Werewolf (El Retorno del Hombre-Lobo) from 1980. Great photography and production value. Truly top notch gothic horror, at a time when even Hammer Films had given up.

I'm compiling a list of the Waldemar Daninsky films on Flixster, although they're missing a few from their database:

The BBFC would pass this easily now.I'd love to see it again but perhaps the owners of the rights are being greedy.A guilty pleasure which I first came across when I saw a still in one of Alan Frank's horror movie books.Years since I last saw the movie on precert.

How can anyone on this forum not fall in love with a title like that?

The U.S title was Night Of The Howling Beast. Been years since I last saw it on pre-cert too. It's a daft but enjoyable film and certainly overdue for release.
