Nazi Exploitation films...

Reaps already has SS Experiment Camp covered in another thread, so would anyone else like to see Shameless release any other Nazi Exploitation films along with that one?

I'm thinking of ones that have a realistic chance of getting past the BBFC... Like Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS. A pretty good film and it has no problematic scenes that could justify censorship. The tone itself may be an issue, but it isn't as bad as some of the other titles in this genre. It should get by...

Gestapo's Last Orgy is also something I'd like, but I just can't see it getting through uncut. It's possible I suppose but it does have a few potentially problematic scenes if I recall...

I wouldn't mind some other ones I've not seen, like Deported Women of the SS Special Section or SS Girls (Beast in Heat came to mind but I've been told many times that it won't get an uncut release, same with Love Camp 7).

Thats my take on it. I know based on the SS Experiment Camp thread that fans are divided on this genre and what it has to offer, but lets see. Are they worth a release? Discuss.

Well Beast in heat is both stupid and repellent. I think some are not as outright vile as they look but the problem is getting them on the shelves, I think a lot of places would have difficulty stocking them, especially if the Daily mail take notice and decide to kick up a fuss.

Personally I do think there is a little bit of hypocrisy over these films. SALO gets lots of adoration from critics but is essentially a 'classier' take on the same kind of subject. Personally very few of them are my cup of tea. I sort of enjoyed Illsa but I never really cared for the genre. I have one of the shriek show 3-disc sets lying about somewhere so I may give them another go.

I'm not really a fan I have to say, I've only seen the 4 Ilsa films, Gestapo's Last Orgy, Red Nights of the Gestapo, SS Experiment Camp, Love Camp 7 and Beast In Heat. Mostly these films are boring, you have to wade thru a lot of cod philosophy about the Third Reich before being rewarded with any titillation. At least with the Cannibal films, you might get some nice travelogue footage. For my money SS Experiment Camp is a dreadful film, a failure on almost every level, while Love Camp 7, Gestapo's Last Orgy and Red Nights of the Gestapo are three of the best, not quite in the league of Salon Kitty or dare-I-mention-it-in-the-same-breath The Night Porter, but good shows nonetheless...

When Shreik Show started to release the Nasty Nazi films I bought them all, you'd have thought I'd of learned my lesson after watching Beast In Heat! These films have a strange atmosphere and are still very taboo. They all have reputations that their vile, horrific and in modern terms torture porn. The titles I've watched are mostly dull, boring and often silly beyond comprehension. I do pitty the dubbing actors having to sit through some of these films in an endless loop.

One thing that's always interested me though is how successful these films were in Italy, I mean did they show to sell out crowds or were they shown for a weekend before been forgotten about or did the international sales keep them going?

In the interest of completism...if I pick up the Nazisploitation AWE set + Red Nights of the Gestapo Excalibur DVD and already have Ilsa Nummer Eins...what am I left missing?

It's Giallo not Cannibal but I really enjoyed Tropic of Cancer aka Death in Haiti for the same reason :)

Not a lot!! Really!
If you are a completest and want them all then you could look at The Night Porter, Salon Kitty, Salo, Helga; She Wolf of Spielburg, Elsa Fraulien SS, SS Girls, Womens Camp 119, SS Special Section Women (aka Deported Women of the SS Special Section), Achtung! Desert Tigers, Helltrain, Love Camp, Love Camp 7, Love Camp 27, SS Cuthroats and Frauliens in Uniform.
:) You sicko, you!

Wow I don't think they made 10 on IMDB between them. Cheers for the recommendations.
