Mad Foxes (1982)

Mad Foxes (1981).

A big fav of mine from the pre cert days. I would love to see an uncut uk dvd release. It also had one of the most enticing covers going (good old Merlin video), with various descriptions of the levels of violence and the age of consent, not to mention a shot gun weilding, gimp mask wearing psycho!

It really has to be one of the most over the top films ever made and a hoot to boot!

Does anybody else feel the same way about this slice of euro sleaze, or am I just fit to be certified?

Angel 28th March 2010 03:32 PM

LIkely to run into trouble with the BBFC, Mr.420, due to the one scene of sexual violence. The last time they saw this film in the 80's they absolutely slaughtered it. Cuts now would be minimal.

I'm not really a fan of the film but for exploitation fans it's a treat. This is one film that not many people appear to have seen.

I agree with everything you`ve said,I have the uncut ABCDVD which looks really good.
Favourite piece of dialogue is when the bike gang go into the karate class and throw a grenade in and one of them says"Hello bastards heres a little present for you".Brilliant!

Only complaint from me is that there are too many lingering shots of male genitilia.:ack:

Quite so and TMF is just a feature length version of tit for tat with the bikers antagonising the good guy and the latter getting his own back in some way or another. The violence is hurled back and forth between both sides with no real semblance of a plot.

I seem to recall a scene where the bikers' are mourning their leader's passing and one member blubbers "I can't believe he won't be with us anymore!". Not exactly the kind of talk you would expect from a supposedly rough and tough motorcyclist.

A similar scene in Bronx Warriors did it so much better and TMF is definitely as mad as a box of frogs (or should that be foxes?)!:)

So do i and although imo the DVD cover could be better the PQ is indeed excellent. Who would have thought such a sleazy effort could look so superb!:thumb:

mr 420 4th April 2010 01:33 PM

Ah!, that cover brings back lots of happy memories!

Gojirosan 4th April 2010 03:13 PM

Never seen it. It sounds glorious!

mr 420 4th April 2010 03:49 PM

Gojirosan, You quite simply HAVE to see this. Think you've seen over the top? Think again, this film is simply unique. I think im going to have to lobby this one for an upcoming shameless/arrow release!

Gojirosan 4th April 2010 04:01 PM

Sadly, I don't see how I can! The ABC is long out of print and the American Jef (and thus probably a crap VHS tranfer) disks are going for stupis money.

:(

mr 420 4th April 2010 04:09 PM

Im sure some nice preson on the forum can do you a trade? You will not be dissapointed!

Spot on. It's an absolute beauty. Good old-fashioned entertainment at its finest.

BioZombie 7th April 2010 08:52 PM

I would like to see this but it seems quite hard to get a hold of.

Wolf 7th April 2010 10:09 PM

I remember hearing about this movie a while ago. It's just a pain in the arse to get hold of.

I would like to see a proper UK release if it wouldn't get too heavily cut.

vincenzo 7th April 2010 10:21 PM

I haven't seen this (to date) but judging by the old cinema cuts details it doesn't look likely to pass completely intact today.

Think Angel has seen the uncut print. What do you think, Angel?

Wolf 7th April 2010 10:44 PM

There's a Pre Cert VHS of this on ebay right now.

Just saying cause I'm short of money at the moment and have already bid on a load of shit today. So I probably won't go after it.

vincenzo 8th April 2010 12:12 AM

Pretty sure the Merlin pre-cert featured the heavily cut UK cinema print.

Ok, didn't know that.

Very unlikely to pass intact today, Vince. The sexual assault on the woman (at 12m) is likely to be cut today, just as it was in 1982. It's a fairly short scene but the focus on frontal nudity with close ups just prior to the rape means it's sure to be cut. There's nothing else in the film to cut.

mr 420 10th April 2010 05:47 PM

So, whats the chances of this one getting released? Everyone whos seen it NEVER forgets it. Its simply that good (In a bad way!). Please dont take this the wrong way, but you really have to actually see before you can pass judgement. Im trying to think of another film that is similar in tone, so perhaps you can get a feel of what the movie is like. The fact of the matter is that there is NO other movie like this and it should be available to everyone. Seriously, the best bad taste movie ever made.

tobiaswragg 11th April 2010 05:45 PM

Another (American) forum voted it their ultimate, perfect and/or most entertaining film. Needs to be seen, for sure.

g053584398 4th September 2010 09:29 PM

You could count me in to pick up a release of that one.

mr 420 22nd September 2010 10:44 AM

How about a poll for this getting released? I see that Island of Death has just made it through. As enjoyable as it is (IOD), its like watching an episode of songs of praise compared to Mad Foxes. Time to beat the drum, methinks!

g053584398 22nd September 2010 01:01 PM

Consider it beaten!

Gigantor 23rd September 2010 07:56 AM

You can add me to the list of fans of this film.

tobiaswragg 23rd September 2010 09:22 AM

Not to mention my humble self.

Mad Foxes is one of those movies that's so bad it's f'ing awesome. I have seen this on numerous occassions and picked up a bootleg at a car boot sale. Come on Shameless, you have to give us this movie.. PLeaaaassseee.

Also, please consider releasing "Fight for your life" and " Nightmare Maker".. Those would be awesome too.

mr 420 9th August 2011 11:42 AM

With the success that Hobo with a Shotgun is having, I feel that it's time that Shameless picked up this title. It is just as over the top as Hobo, maybe even a little more? It's one of those films that after you have seen it you run out and tell your mates about it, or you need to switch it off and take and take an extremely cold shower.
A little seen masterpeice of exploitation cinema and after all isn't that the sort of film that we are all here to enjoy? A film that has to be seen to be believed!

Wes 10th August 2011 09:29 AM

Yeah, I second all the comments for this one... if you like Trash Cinema, you won't want to miss this one.... I wrote a short piece on my blog about it last year and reading back the post just now, I was obviously impressed....

Drenched in cheap splatter, no one exits the film without being disemboweled, sprayed with machine gun fire, castrated or stabbed in the head with a garden shares. The shoddiness of the film even extends to the dubbing of the film, which is especially careless here, the actors’ mouths flapping like beached fish, long after the dialogue has run out. Quite possibly the dubbing was entirely improvised with delirious lines like “I’ll cut your neck off”, and "She fell from a horse and became paralytic".

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 10th August 2011 10:44 AM

It sounds suitably gory and exploitative and something I'm keen to see.

mr 420 10th August 2011 11:30 AM

You really do Nos. Seriously, if there ever was a movie made for the Shameless catalogue then it is surely this.

tobiaswragg 11th August 2011 07:53 AM

It is indeed a great show and I would hazard a guess that the BBFC would pass it uncut.

Wes 11th August 2011 08:38 AM

Not forgetting the songs of Swiss NWOBHM wannabee’s Krokus… “Easy, easy rocker…always on the run….”

That makes two of us. With the recent BBFC decisions passing films that would of never of made it through unscathed a few years ago there has never been a better time to take a trip to Soho.

vaultkeeper 10th September 2011 12:05 AM

Yes! I would buy it, great movie, i have been wanting to get this movie on DVD for quite a while now and the Swiss DVD is out of print and very hard to find, and every time it shows up its very expensive.

Demoncrat 18th January 2020 10:57 AM

Rewatching this in a decent print on YT. Cough. Dubbed. Still wildly crazed. :pop2::nod::laugh:
